ZX14R 2012 IDLE SPEED
HI , i noticed on my 2012 when in motion (and warmed
up and off the cold high idle) the idle sits about 1350 rpm and doesnt drop
back to 1100rpm until bike speed drops under about 10-15km/h. Not sure if
its the way the 2012 are set up with the new idle speed adjuster or if
something is wrong ???
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks jason

My 14r fast cold idle`s at 1600 then settles down to 1100 and stays there.

How is it at idle, when you are in motion ? I tried to duplicate what you were saying yesterday, but its hard to tell what the idle is, while you are not stopped ..... maybe the bike sets the "idle" a little high when you are in motion, so it doesnt stall ? I dont know

Jason, I experience the same thing on my 14R, I suspect that it is related to the speed sensors on the wheels. If the bike is in motion, the idle is higher. It drops upon stopping.

carabuser, warm idle is 1100rpm stationary . all good
FalldownPhil, yes this is same as mine. Looks like its a feature of the 2012 , maybe as carabuser said , sets the "idle" a little high when you are in motion, so it doesnt stall .

I wish Guhl would find a way to raise the idle in the ECU(14R) if you wanted to .. I always like my bikes idle around 1300-1600...
