Anyone experience idle surge on ZX14R?
Hey all new here, I put on the Full Ti Muzzy and a PCV once the pipe was on I experienced idle surge, the PCV didnt clear it up.The map the shop loaded was right from the Dynojet site for # 17-005 . there are only 4 maps showing I am sure this will increase as time goes by. Anyway I havent done the pair valve bypass and leaning toward doing it. The guy at the shop had a dyno that was fairly old, and remember boys and girls, the 14r has KTRC traction control and it is on by default and will cause the bike to engage it while strapped on the dyno.....he was like man your bike wont quit cutting out at 4000 rpm.....lol so I turned that off and voila! 200hp easy.
the red line is a 2009 zx14 with voodoo slip ons for comparison and the green is 1st thru 5th and blue is a 4th gear roll on

Similar problem with 12 when we first got them in 2000 and put 'free flow' pipes on.......We couldn't map it out. Balanced the TB's and we were good to go. Had to remove the sealed EPA air screw caps on the TB's to get at the air screws which on the 12 were all closed on mine from the factory. Full turn out and balanced was the ticket for a smooth idle right down to 600 rpm......I'll check the new 14 when it arrives next week and report back.

I know this is weird but I just rode mine and it seemed to improve. I know I need to do the pair valve mod and all, but damn this thing is fast.
