BIG difference is wheelbase between both machines as well. Both are SWB but SWB on a 14 is like 59" SWB on that 10r is like 55"

I dont think no one is comparing this guy with JT. How hard is it to accept he went 8.67 on a ZX-10? Or are only a selected few allowed to go fast? lol If this guy added weight to the front, why are others not doing the same? lol

Big difference? Tony added 15 lbs to the front which gave the 10r and 60' of 1.51.

JT had his 60' times in the mid 1.4's.

Results? The 10R ran quicker with a shorter wheelbase and a slower 60'- foot shifting...

You gotta be dreaming thinking that 15 lbs gave the ZX10 an unfair advantage.

I was saying how fast the new 10 was even before the numbers started leaking out (early release propaganda?) from the 14r and that with it's superior power/weight ratio it should be able to outrun the 14r. Hell, I got death threats from the die hard 14 guys for even suggesting such blasphemy. So this run really could not have really happened and the video of it has be some sort of computer generated communist plot to overthrow the superiority of the 14R worshipers. This has to be the case or the world as we know it has ended. Kawasaki better find another 30-40 horsepower quick for the '13 model 14r to set things back right in the universe. Can't have little brother competing with the King.

It's not unbelievable 100 lbs lighter with close to the same hp alot less torque, it flies. Dave u know we have a 2012 zx 10 in our camp too with a 150 lb rider and his #s are real good and if he could keep the front end down he would be faster. I been trying to get him to ride my 14r but he wont do it, says its too big for him. I know he could get it in the 40s in the 1/8th more than likely. He's lighter than Rickey Grayson and he ran a 53 in the 1/8th on it in the heat

what were the temps when both bikes ran their numbers? I know that we had cold crisp air here all weekend but the wind was pretty stiff.

Tony said on face book that his zx10 had the wheel base at 57 inches .. You can see in the video the axle is all the way back in the adjuster slot.. And had 15 pounds added to the front end .. Brock tuned the bike .. Didn't say anything about fuel but Brock likes MR12 so i'm sure it was tuned for MR12 ..JTs bike ( zx14R ) foot shifting like Tony has been 8.69.. I'm sure that they both have the same tricks done to the bikes ( or very close to the same mods) .. Wheelbase on the new zx14R is 58.3 if you move the axle all the way back ..
Either way you look at it both bikes are flying .. 8.60s ...

I know it's very believable that the new 10 is so fast. Even considered buying one. I mentioned end of last Summer how it should compete favorably against the 14R once the specs on the 14R came out even before there had been any times posted. Got blasted at every turn. But physics can't be cheated. The new 10 has got to be fast and quick once the rider gets used to making passes on it. Power/weight is just stupid.

BTW, is that ZX10 the red one that I've seen at the track a few times? If so, it's flying.

JT didn't have any weight added to the front of his bike.

If JT had 15lbs added to the front he would have went qiucker.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but it is what it is.

Me either but the 10's that I see around here at the track are sure flying. And they should be given their power/weight. That's my point.

All I am saying is the ZX10 went quicker at the end of the track then JT did, with a half tenth slower 60'.

I can understand if the 15 lb ballast got Tony to a mid 1.4, but it didn't.

Numbers don't lie, the ZX-10 made up for the 60' that JT and the 14R ran at the 330' and beyond.

True had the Zx10 60 footed better but it didn't. Just think what out would have ran with an equal 60 foot. What about an 8.58 About what 67 to 69 inch zx14rs run

The wieght would have improved JTs 330, his clutch hand got him the 1.4 60', but after that he could not roll to full throtle until farther down the track due to the 14Rs tq,. with weight up front he could have gotten to full throtle quicker resulting in a quicker e/t.

This is supported by his 1/8 mile mph and his 60'.

Weight was added to the zx10 for a reason.
If the zx10 didn't add wieght, it would not have 1.511, 3.807 330' or went fast enough the beat JTs time(8.69).

Damn fast !!! That zx10 is no joke in the right hands for sure .. And he did it with a 1.40s 60 footer. Just think what it would have run with a low 1.30 60 foot time ... I'm sure the good air they had up there helped ..Either way he is flying ..

This bike is making what I call the classic light bike move past the 60', 330' and continuing past the 660'. Look at that MPH in the 1/8th compared to the back half MPH. Man that thing is screaming mid track.

True , had i raced him on my 8.47 pass i would have had him covered in the 1/8 mile with a 5.42 .. But he would have been coming on strong with that 8.48 to my 8.47 .. We would have been eyeball to eyeball at the finish line ..That ZX10 is bad assed for sure ..
