painting over custom paint

After trading up to the 14, the custom paint job has to go! Nothing like riding down the highway n ppl thinking I'm someone else, not to mention riding something that didn't compare to old bike, but since no money for another custom I'm goin at it solo, lol, I'll post results, whether good or bad!

I did try n the only one that bit was in Texas n then he ended uplaying it down, I already started the process, sanded everything to the plastic, primed it, sanded again, put candy base(silver flake) yeah I know, first time painting n he tries candy lol, then marked of where I wanted black to go, sprayed black but the dang silver bade texture showed thru it do I just wet sanded with 1000, repeated black, looks better, then I peel tape off n dang, there is black all over silver from wet sanding runoff, hey, I did say my first time. Now I gotta tape off and spray silver again, then candy the rest, I already did front piece n quickly saw why I should've never tried to sand black of silver n spray candy over it, it really is a see they color lol, oh, n I used duplicolor system, which I don't care for after seeing the red but it is what it is, I'll finish it just for practice purposes but I really want house of kolors brandy wine over black base coat

Got to tape off fins, not sure if I want to do them all black or black n red, the 2 rear side panels n the front fender, then the frame has to be done cause the last custom job they painted the actual frame as well. Then I'll wet sand everything n clear the heck out of it, I put 1 coat of clear already so that if it gets a small scratch while handling it I can sand it out, almost there!!

What inspired the paint scheme? It looks fantastic. Little Dave wants to do something special with the turbo 14 and I've always been hesitant to do a custom paint scheme on a bike. I'm going to direct him to this thread so he can see what you came up with.

Can't take credit for scheme I looked at 300 or so bikes , it was a toss up between 2 bikes. Two that I thought I could do, decided against the busa cause I needed smooth side pieces to pull it off so I used a black n gold drag 14 as a template, all I changed was the tank n rear seat cowl, other than what I can see in the pic, besides the color,

All props go to this bike, whoever it is I thank u!

Also tried to (so called) airbrush, instead of buying autoair or hook airbrush paint I thinned the black lacquer paint ith thinner n it sprayed good until cobweb looking stuff was flying over theplace, not sure if air was drying paint as it came out n caused this but it clogged my stencil up several times, should I leave it like this or go over it with candy red, it'll still show through fairly good s candy is transparent n black under it really shows up
