LM2 data logger on ZX14 engine

Does anybody know where to take a good signal to log revs on the LM2 data logger on a ZX14 (2006/2007)

I am using a PC5 and I noticed that the software of the PC5 gives you a perfectly reliable tach display but on the LM2 I just cant get a smooth rev signal. I have tried taking it both from a coil and from an injector. I have also tried putting a variable potentiometer in between as the LM2 manual suggests under trouble shooting but rev signal still goes crazy.

Anyone know how to solve this?

use your fuel injector wire. Try that and see if the signal is better

IDK if this will help but i always had to ground to the same source i was getting a signal from ..like if i used a injector wire i had to ground to same injector not to the battery or frame

Getting the same thing from a dl32 , erratic signal from the coil ,and rpm limits when from an injector at higher DC

1 badzx12r so you picked up on the power and inj switched gnd ??

i'm wondering if there is an induced voltage i am reading from the coil wires all running parrallel
and had considered twisting the wire pairs ??

Do You have the newest firmware on Your LM2? Also adding capasitors and diode to the power connection helps. Also make sure You have good grounding.

Yes, the cam position sensor can be used of an RPM signal. It will read half speed, but there are settings in the setup wher you can deal with that.
