Anytime we can identify a potential defect or a safety issue is should be everyone's desire to make it known to powers at the factory what the issues are and suggestions to correct the issue. It is a NO brainer. AND it doesn't cost anything...!

NHTSA is the correct place to report safety problems with any vehicle sold in the USA.
They are the people that can make a recall happen. If they get enough complaints, they will do something about it.
