Given what I've read on the subject by those who have tested the bike even WITHOUT an airfilter, an aftermarket filter will not provide any gain whatsoever.

I read from a reliable source that the most output from the 2012 is with the stock filter.

Maybe the BMC offers a longer life over the OEM, but more power...........No.

At least from what I've read.

Just my opinion.

What really happened was the bike lost a few HP with the filter removed ..Even with mapping the HP was down without a filter ..

I pulled my oem filter at the dragstrip and lost mph on my 14r. My Gen 1's would gain mph. Sticking with the oem for now

Brock has some numbers on the air filter testing on his dyno......I think the stock filter in, produced about 1-2 more HP than with it out...at the time of his testing, don't think this new BMC Race filter had been developed and released.

Would like to see back to back pulls with stock and with the BMC ..same day, same bike, same technician on the dyno...that is the only way we will know for sure..

The back side of the stock Kawasaki filter has a significant metal perforated screen, looks like this is a very big restriction to air flow to me...

However, It really filters out the sand and dirt! Great filter....the BMC Race filter is yet to be proven to us....

Remove the screen and don't worry about 1 hp while street riding, BMC has been proven for years, oem has been proven for years, K&N was the hp loser not BMC race...

I removed screen from stock unit,,,an easy job...just slide off the two plastic retainer pins in the large end and the screen will slide out easily in case you want to re install it.

It will probably increase the stock air flow by at least 50%.

Hello daar.

Did you dyno the bike with the bmc . What I've read was that the filter allows the air to flow better that no filter thus giving more hp, so would be interesting to see what you get if your'e going to dyno again. From whom did you buy it and how much?

TD Agencies( 011 - 839 1660 ) in JHB is the importers for BMC here in SA, I had my 14R on Steve O Cannon's dyno the week before I received the filter and It made 195hp after tuning. I fitted the filter & phoned Steve, he suggested that we run the bike again and just check afr & fueling. He did some settings & the bike picked up 3hp so the BMC filter seems to work on MY bike. I don't know if our altitude has something to do with it 5793 ft above sea level.

As easy as as it is to swap filters while on the dyno why not do that rather that waiting days or
months, you can pick up 3 hp doing nothing, but I bet this thread has sold a few filters already. lol.

Wee I hear you, that was my intention to do back to back tests, when my bike was at the tuner I was told by supplier the filter will only be arriving in a months time. To my surprise a got a call the next week saying the filters are there, so yes I was pissed off for not being able to do a back to back test, but at least the HP didn't drop, so I will keep the filter in.
