EK ZZZ master link rivet crack
So I am pretty sure I know the answer but just to see what you guys think...
Is this gonna hold up?
This is a pic of my riveting job  Mind you this is the first damn time I am doing this and I pissed away 2 links already lol ... but any way I am trying to figure the damn thing out and the first try I overtightened the second time this happened ..
Does anyone know what the diameter of the rivet head is supposed to hold this damn thing in place? Didn't come with any tools or indication.
Would greatly appreciate some help!

I would not trust it....did you measure how far you pressed the side plates on compared to the factory ones? How tight is it?

Absolutely do NOT use that master.
What rivet tool are you using. One clue is that as you tighten (by hand) you will feel a point where you have to put a lot more pressure than you did to get that far.
I sent an email to to EK chain and here is what I got back after only 2 weeks. The English is not so good, but the info is.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Our sincere apologies for the extreme delay in response due to the high volume of inquiries via EK website we receive.
The optimal diameter of the mushroomed pin end for EK 530ZZZ
rivet-type master link is:
5.70 mm - 6.00mm (0.0224" - 0.0236").
The original pin diameter is supposed to be 5.38 mm (0.0212").
You are supposed to be able to use the tool of any good brand.
Thank you for using EK chain.

If you don't have dial calipers, they are cheap at Harbor Freight, but they may not be accurate to 1/1000 of an inch. If not, measure the before and do the math.

If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Get a new link ( they don't cost much ) Get an extra one just in case .. If the new link doesn't come with install spacers let me know , i have a few extras .. You install the spacer before you press the plates on and spread the pin .. That should keep you from cracking the pin .. You don't need much of a spread on the pin to hold the link in place ..I spread them just so i can feel the spread with my finger nails ..Or use a set of dail calipers before and after on the pin , if it's larger you got it ..

I rode like this for 350 miles this weekend lol .. needless to say that won't be happening till I get this worked out but it seemed to have held up just fine...
So the side plate thickness I believe I nailed actually maybe ~0.1-0.15 mm wider so I will try to do a little better next time. The spread measured 6.05mm on the less cracked and 6.15mm on the one that looks worse. I was actually very surprised that the rivet head cracked after it even barely started becoming tight or requiring significant effort and it just popped after a few turns .. dunno
I am using this tool set i bought from cycle gear not sure about the brand but it came @ $40 so I decided to get it since such a good deal. Kind of regret that now.. this is a tough chain!
I did try the fingernail thing and I could feel it initially but then I looked at the DID aftermarket on my ZX-10 and the dang thing is spread like a flower so I figured I need to keep going lol
Smokin how much mulah u need to mail me the spacer? At this point I would go ahead and say that I will prolly need it since the previous link I ordered didn't come with one. Can't hurt since so far it's been a total fail lol
Ah just one thing after the other lately it feels like - overflow bottle cracked and leaked this weekend lol thankfully that's a joke of a job compared to this chain mess :-)

Looks way too compressed, you've probably crushed the o-rings & locked up the link. Use the spacers & as smokin' says just crush the pins enough to hold the link on. The link should move freely as the other links do.

I have cracked the ek rivets before and ran the chain 1000 passes with no problem. The trick to them is slowly flaring them to the .012 flare needed and they wont crack. Take your time. And do buy extra links.lol

Lee, where do these spacers you referred to come from? I just looked at both master links my ZZZ chain came with and there isn't a spacer.

I'm betting the "E" shaped pieces are the spacers you are talking about? Neither of the 2 I got have them.

Then this one shows a different type, guessing the boob shaped pieces are spacers. mine didn't come with these either.

Hey UPSguy,
The one that smokin sent me are the ones from the first link you posted. My chain/masterlinks did not come with those either ...
Do you need them? I can mail them to you as long as you promise to return the favor and mail them to the next person on this site that needs them! :-)
Lemme know..
