remove the lower sub frame tubes. remove one front brake rotor and caliper. remove bar end weights, pingel makes some super light Delrin ones. Mirrors off. passenger foot peg brackets off.. there are a few light exhaust hangers out there. 60 series front tire or lighter construction and lighter rear. Lighter wheels. Remove evap and PAIR systems if you have not already. Remove the rubber sound mat off engine. Headlights are very heavy if you can loose those. Would need a new upper or covers for the holes. I am sure there is lots more that can be done.

Prior to race day, diet down alittle, then be sure to take dump before you line up.

Seriously, there can be some significant weight savings in your suit, boots and helmet.

Be smart and get the lightest stuff possible. I saw a guy weigh all of his race gear and it was under 7 lbs, helmet and boots included.

Also from what I've seen on this forum,,,, ZX-10 rims are lighter than the 14 rims. I have no idea how much you plan to spend in getting to your goal. Also ditching 1 front rotor and caliper have been done. Converting some hardware from steel to Titanium has also been done.

I saved 9.0 pounds by swapping to ZX10r wheels, and kept both front rotors.

The front wheel is a direct swap and you can use your stock OE front rotors.

The rear wheel requires a spacer/bearing kit from OSR, ZX10r rear caliper & brake rotor. And a ZX12r sprocket.

Then save another pound or two with Michelin Pilot Pure tires.

After all the weight savings I did, my ZX14 weighed in at 485 pounds with a 1/4 tank of gas.

If your going to drag race, I'd stay away from the Michelin power pure tire. It's too hard of a compound for drag racing(if you have any amount of wheelbase)
Second, how did you get a custom muzzy exhaust? Rob make it for ya?

ok replys um no not drag racing even though I like to. I planned on dieting to loose some weight in addition to lightening the bike. But un related . the handle bar weights good suggestion couldnt figure out who made the lightest ones.sub frame tubes ill have to look into. fun weekend riding bike so need mirrors and my gf would get mad if she had no were to put her feet.plus I like my green stripe on my rims . and no muzzy didnt make a titanium mid pipe for my exhaust so I had a company called ti industries make two and 4 new end caps.plus they made a oem replacement spec ti header for me 4000. dont suggest doing that if you dont have the money to blow on foolish things like that. it only really save close to 3 lbs .dont get me wrong night and day difference just head wasnt that heavy. so great so far only see 2lb difference now. I do have some one here locally that will make some steel brackets out of alum but trying to figure out which ones. keep em coming

Can't remove the subframe tubes if you are running 2 up. They add support to the subframe for the pillion area. The subframe would bend without the bars and a passenger onboard. If you aren't drag racing and carrying a passenger I'd be more concerned with getting the suspension dialed or custom sprung and tuned, rather than trying to shave measly ounces here and there. I think it was assumed your goal was ultra light weight for drag or LSR. Why even bother if it's for street use. You can't use the power you got now legally or in the 9/10ths realm, so chasing ounces seems like a huge waste of time and money plus loss or functionality. Just my 2 cents.

Yep.
And paying $4,000 for a header isn't the smartest thing to do. To each their own...
If your worried about weight $4,000 will be close to gettin you a set of BST's and throw in a ohlins shock and you will get more response from that than these few ounces your trying to lose.

I know i use it anyway. we drag the bridge but its miles not quarter .not trying to lose functionality I have to dodge cars at high speed. the track rules here suck so a few of us do high speed rides. then we go to the bridge.every one doing over 200 even the cars.my last bike I spent 20 grand on my 9. couldnt get close. now I can need few more pounds gone thanks though.
