what about the traction control on the 2012 kawasaki's is that a factor .. i know over on PB they are having a thread about the suzuki getting taken apart and tech after the race yesterday ..to see if he was cheating.. if i was in the class i would bring that up

If ricky or anybody else on a zx14R used the T/C you would hear it loud and clear ...I have tried it and everybody can hear it .. It sounds like you are on a two step or banging the limiter .. Remember the T/C works when it spins AS well as soon as it lifts the tire off the ground ..It would do nothing but slow the bike down ..

I dont think the touch the engine because you can do anything you want to the motor to make power .Big blocks and strokers are ok as well as any head work or cams ...They are looking for other things like weight added to any front end parts .. Fuel type , ground clearance Ect ...I think they alway do this to the winner in this class anyway ..Johnny i don't think would cheat ever ...But if it's not in the rule book anything goes .. Just like NHRA Pro stock ..

take it off just like everybody else .. or let everybody else have it on their bikes also.. with ECU hacking the way it is who to say its not set to engage at a set rpm in a certain gear to make it easier to ride in 1st gear let say .. who would police an ecu .. lets also say in 4 years suzuki comes out with a better traction control ..1 that you can't hear..who's gonna police it ..

I have no clue how they could check it .. If you ever get a zx14r and ride it you will understand why you can hide it or the sound of it .. If in 4 years zook does build something that can't be heard or seen someone will find a way to test for it .. Or Mirock will just let everone run t/c and not worry about it ..

thats what i'm saying .. and it should have started when the first traction controlled bike appeared in a dragrace .. theres no excuse to having it unless you plan on using it .. and you know people ..if there a way to cheat they gonna try it .. it be nice to have a bazazz TC box on my bike KNOWING I CAN NEVER LOOP IT with the TC working ..

Back to the topic at hand. I wonder how easy it would be to compete in this class. Not win and dominate mind you, but at least be able to win a round or two. Who thinks one can compete in this class without a zillion dollar budget and at least win a round or two every now and then? Like with a certain 06 ZX14 turbo or another certain 2005 Turbo Hayabusa? What'll it take? Consistent 7.90's?
Depends what you call a "zillion" dollars. If you're on a budget you are not going to compete at all.

Did not blow the engine. It sure looked like it with what appeared to be smoke suddenly coming out half way down the track. However, it was an external water leak and it probably caused wheel spin. Tough break but at least it is an easy fix. Hopefully, Chris will have more test/tune time with Rickey and the bike will soon be stronger and race ready. Lew
