Just back from IM Leathers in Hamilton. The custom 14HT suit is being made out of black 'suede' with gold trim - very sexy indeed..........The complete ensemble should look wild with the finished bike!

Ballistic Li battery arrived today, when I picked up the box it was so light, I thought they forgot to pack the battery. On my similar, zero'd out scales - 2lbs as opposed to the stock battery at 11lbs - incredible........I just called my broker and gave him an 'unlimited' buy order for Ballistic stock!!!
Cheers,

Forgot to mention the paint finishes - House of Kolor 'satin' metallic gold on 'satin' metallic (gold ice) black. Should look absolutely incredible!!!........I'll have the first finished Arai helmet tomorrow for everyone to see the paint design. We actually have (2) top of the line Aria Corsair helmets (with coloured screens - gold and black) to work with, big thanks to Arai.

Put the new Ballistic 16HD 'Li' battery into my 2000cc Honda VTX big twin today (always been a bugger to start - I use a high performance INTERSTATE battery with 20% more CCA, which is always on a trickle charger if I'm not using the bike the next day) started up no problem! Did you know that a Li battery never loses more than 10% of its charge, no matter how long it sits? Jerry at Ballistic tells me you never need to charge it, unless you drain it by leaving the ignition on etc. Very cool way to lose 10lbs.

Lots of questions on the Kappa side bag mounts - as expected they were built for the earlier model ZX14. That said, we'll modify them accordingly to fit the new R with the master himeslf, Rob at Tricked Toys in Newmarket........We'll show you the entire process of the build right here at Bikeland.

FYI - Kappa is made in the same factory as Givi. IMO, these bags are of similar build quality, just less ornate and a better all round canvas for a guy designing a custom project. We'll be painting the bags satin black metallic with gold 'slashes' along the mid bag pattern. Should look really cool, especially when we open them up and revel a gold 4.5lbs n2o bottle inside!!!
Cliff
P.S. - The Kappa tank bag connects via a very sexy gas cap quick mount, no straps.

I thought you guys might get a kick out of the 'Race Pac' dash & gauges we use on my 350hp MachZ 1000cc, 2 stroke, n2o race sled. Tells us real-time and with playback telemetry - o2, EGT, fuel pressure, coolant temp, battery voltage, rpm, speed (to .5mph) and crankshaft/jackshaft speed (clutch slippage).....Friggin amazing to review after a run.
Cliff
P.S. - Muzzy stuff should be here tomorrow.

Christmas came early baby!.........Fabulous 'one of a kind' Muzzy Ti/CF exhaust system and pretty much everything else Muzzy's makes for the new ZX-14. Should look and sound wild.

Lots of questions on this awesome Muzzy pipe - total weight 6.5lbs, with cans. Not sure what the 2013 stockers weigh (we'll know soon) but probably 40ish. That's huge - deduct 10lbs more for the Li battery etc.....It's all good.

Cliff, you need to tell R.Muzzy to put those pipes on the market for the 14R.
That true x-pipe will sound awesome on the gas and de-cell.
I'm a dual exhaust fan and the 14R has plenty of ass from the factory for my needs.
(for now anyways)

First series of painted pieces are back from the master blaster, John Connery - unreal. House of Kolor 'satin' gold metallic on 'satin' black with gold ice metallic in the black paint. Just in case you didn't know, I mental problems - that's a 4.5lbs carbon fibre n2o bottle!....Shockingly cool.

Cliff,I was just pondering while pouring a scotch (I work nights)....
What are your thoughts as to the Areo effects with the side cases on,when you hit the N2O in top gear shooting for the 200mph?
I rode my little S/T jag with my trusty FieldSheer soft bags and at 150 it was all I wanted, strapped down tight.
They weren't making me weave or anything but the steering input was needed.I didn't feel good about much faster and it was just a boredom blast somewhere in Tennessee.
I do figure they were lifting but didn't look around to them,LOL.
Hard cases will help some but the drag/vortices still have to be accounted for in the handling I'd think.
I recall your doing a steering dampner, what else?
A call to the Gods is fine but that doesn't seem your style...

Thanks SG, very kind of you to say so, I'll let Rob know your thoughts. Not sure, but I'll assume the R&D is now done to allow Muzzys to build these pipes on demand.........Big thanks to everyone on Bikeland firstly for allowing us to use this thread to self-promote and to now build this incredible bike 'on-line'........I plan to show you everything we do from custom installs on the luggage, to plastic welding, to tuning the n2o shot etc, we'll share it all in hopes of providing as much enjoyment to the '14 Nation' as possible.
We just love this stuff and hope you do too.
Cheers,

- Good questions - Drag coefficient with the luggage? IMO - huge! I ran the big Honda 2000cc Chromeless Cruiser until it banged off the rev limiter in 5th gear at 240klms - smooth as silk, just lots of drag. The 1270 at 340klms (yellow box corrected) straight as an arrow, you just couldn't move it. Huge resistance at those speeds.
- Steering dampener by Scott will be installed, a must have IMO. No mirrors (Muzzy plates) no turn signals (Plastic Surgeon) - me in a Speedo laid out across the bike!!!!!!!!!!.......I'm currently in discussions with BST for a set of their beautiful CF wheels (ceramic bearings) and with RaceTech who will be building me a one-off ZX-14 suspension, if we're successful in convincing them that this bike is a wonderful canvas to advertise their products.
- The only God I know is 'Dan the Man' at Champion Cycle. This guy knows 14s and he knows fast. Dan and his team will pre-determine on his Dyno Center, how much 'power adder' we need to blow thru 200mph...........All that said, who really knows until we get out there.

Couple of questions on the Muzzy n2o bottle - bottle weights 3lbs (carbon fiber) holds 4.5lbs of juice, so full = 7.5lbs.

NO, not the 12 cell - Call Jerry at Ballistic, you want what I have, the 'beta unit' - second generation Li battery, 16 cell.
