New flash and flies reinstalled ..
Love the new flash , no more having to remember to turn off the T/C .. Just fire up and run .. I also reinstalled the flies to get that little bit of lost HP at high RPM .. I can't tell if it is faster because of poor ( no ) track prep .. I spun all 6 runs to some degree ..
It may just be me or the fact that i have not raced the bike in some time , But the bike felt much smoother than before .. Possible the flies helping smooth out the air flow in the intake track like Brock had stated ? I did notice back when i was running the flies and using the 6th TRE the bike felt smooth as glass ... I did fell more vibes after i pulled the flies and removed the TRE .. Back when i had the TRE and flies in place i did run my best MPH ever .. Back then my ET stayed pretty much the same but i had better MPH with the flies in place ..
I just pray i used pleanty of lock tight on the fly scews and don't have a screw come loose !! For this reason i will not reinstall the flies on someone elses bike .. Do this at your own risk .. I wish Kawi offered new screws , i hate using used screws on something that could be sucked into the motor if they come loose ..
More testing to come when i can get down to our 1/4 mile track that hooks ... I feel i should see my MPH come back up but might not see much if any gain in ETs .. One never knows till you try it .. .

So you feel the flies should go back in?I have mine....top end HP...well....I want the most I can get from my bike.Anyone know if the 2011 and down fly is the same size?I need ONE.Smoothness?Well,my stock ECU returned some smoothness...but she still has a teensy bit of vibe to her.You think the secondaries MAY just improve that a bit more?I'm all for having the best riding experience I can from my big bird.New tires today...I'll see how that works out.43 rear sprocket as well.(not new...but fairly close to it).
Nevermind about the fly...I have some from my 07.
Okay..they're back in now.I love the way this tank balances on the frame...makes it very easy to work on the top like that.I have new plugs...but think I'm gonna wait and see how she does with the flys and new tires on there.Running a stock ECU just now.Have the Guhl's/Brock's...but gonna wait again for that.Not the 'second' flash...only the first in mine.
@Smokin...I don't think those screws are gonna go anywhere with the loctite on em.Mine went in very snugly and tightened down nicely.

Smokin, was there a certain rpm that you noticed this vibration?

Kept the flis out...actually,removed em(again)....one was hanging up and stopping the actuator shaft from opening.Just decided to ditch em....Didn't want to mess with them anymore.All good.

I'm not sure if i can call it a Vibration .. Flies out had the feel of an engine that was just not ballanced .. I felt this in the hole RPM range , not just at one RPM zone .. It almost felt as you could feel every hit of the piston as it fired .. Now the bike feels like a turbo bike and builds power as the boost rises ..Smooth but very quicky building power .. I didn't change maps , just added the flies and the new flash .. The flash is the same but has more tools like keeping the T/C off ..

Blue that is a problem putting them back in .. You have to make 100% sure they are centered before locking down the screws .. It's tricky .. But it can be done ..

Ya...I know...the other three were fine!It was that LAST one that was 'hanging up"...looked just like the other three  ...spacewise and all.Course,when I went to reinstall...they all looked excellent!LOL!!!Maybe I will do it again...but not today!

BTW...the 43 rear...sheesh....nice...very.Bike feels really smooth...I want to try the flies again....later.Frontend has NO problem lofting now...not that it really did before...but that rear is definitely spinnin..or grabbin and lifting...nice!Ktrc on "1".

I am gonna switch out ECU's...with my Guhl/Brock thing.See how it works now...with the 43.
Course,the wheelbase has just been shortened...so that may have something to do with it.

Smokin, have you had a chance to test the new flash /w flies in at the track yet. I'm looking to put my flies back in, but with the risk associated with that, I am trying to make sure it's gonna help. My bike runs perfect, just want the perfect smoothness it had as stock back again.

I would think new screws could be easily sourced at McMaster Carr unless they are something weird. Thats what I did last time I rebuilt the carbs on the `79 CBX, drilled a hole into the threaded end a made a crimping plier to.
