2013 U.S.A. ABS Specs.?
Greetings,
Does anyone know how soon it will be until either Kawasaki or the Moto-press announces whether the 2013 ZX14-R will offer ABS in the U.S.A. market or not?

ZX10...yes.14R...no.Give it another year.If you look on the USA website...Kawasaki...the 2013's are 'out'...kinda.The 10R's in there.

Thanks, but if the '13 specs aren't completely out for the 14, how can we be sure the US won't see ABS?

You will have to order one from Australia, but they are only right hand drive lol !
I cannot believe that a small insignificant market such as Australia (almost the size of the USA but population of only 22,5 million) gets the ABS as standard, whereas the USA does not !!!!!!

Where are ya seein that ?...I only see ABS for the zx10R for 2013.I'm just curious....nothing more.Maybe you could shoot a pic of the brochure and post it?....I'd like to know if I could upgrade my bike to ABS...the Concours has it...along with their KTRC.ZX10R has it...also with KTRC...shouldn't be TOO difficult installing on the 14R...everything but the plumbing and ECU program are there already(which that MIGHT be in there already).I read about the KTRC and ABS on the zx10...the 2013...they made it pretty clear that it was no magic trick to set up their KTRC bike with abs as well."everything is there already" I think that's what they said about the 10.

And aslo all Australian models have to be fited with;

" whereas the USA does not !!!!!!"...I contacted Kawasaki a while back....when the 14R first came out...they said.."there's not enough demand for it here"...that's what they said.Countrywise...the US has probably got more zx14 customers per capita than anywhere else...so it makes sense that a place like Oz with a lesser zx14 community COULD have a bigger say in Kawi's way of seeing the 'need'.THEIR customers are fewer maybe...but overall...for the per capita deal...they have a bigger voice in asking for it than we do.Make sense?(it could be...Kawasaki likes the Aussies better than the Americans...let us get ourselves killed...more sales!!!)J/KLOL!
Now...the Concours is a different animal.LOTS of demand for abs with that bike.Here...the 10 getting it and the 14 not...IDK....they have their reasons.Cost wise?IDK....as an option?IDK.Eventually...they will.You KNOW they will...once this 14R takes off...and guys start using it exclusively for touring.They'll offer it...

Actually...I'd rather ride at those times than full on Summer.Heated gear makes it REALLY nice on those cold frosty mornins when there's no ice...but plenty of cold air and empty roads(kinda).Got a guy here who rides ALL WINTER...with a sidecar...used to have a german shepard ridin with him all the time...haven't seen the pup for a while though

dragsters can by the 2012 models with the abs and be happy and I can ride to the track and watch them tear some arse up on the ABS model...my 08 Connie I put 23k miles on it from June to Feb..cold suit required Jan..car nerver needed and oli chain in a year..never drove it..lol
