The Boy wonder
If I had a son come to a bike board such as this to gleen info to build me a bike when I got back from serving our country. I'd be proud of him. Seems to be a good thing from the heart of a lad to encourage. But If I read what's been posted here by him and he went about it this way we read, It becomes an issue with how to be respectful to strangers, not about the connection we make riding and building our bikes... or in this case trashing people and expecting anything in return.
Being that I have 5 kids that was more of a goal than being rich or poor wise or stupid. I wasnt always successful. I encouraged friends,neighbors and passers by if needed to tell me when my kids missed the mark ,were rude or scratched a 68 Camaro with their bicycles. Thats just what you did. times have changed.
Sometimes the Golden-Apple doesnt fall far from the tree. I've talked with a few Fathers about their kids' behaviour and it fell on deaf ears.
I keep my mouth shut more than not, but damn.
I appreciate the knowlege and humor (and the cash) from all Ive dealt with here
Some peoples' kids piss me off. If this were my son doing this shit. I'd throw a cover on the new bike and have a conversation about respect. if that didnt work, I'd roll the gifts to the curb with a for sale sign.
