12 R Ratcheting On hard launch
Any one Else have this happening under hard launch. Chain does not need a major tightening. Bike has 450 kilo on the clock and is skipping ??? Repeat tests all same. I will tighten chain but it does not need it. Any and all input welcome Cheers,

Try tightening the chain a little and see if the problem at least gets better. We have to tighten the N/A 14 chain tighter than I thought was reasonable to get it to stop skipping. it's tight enough that it causes a little bit of drag. We're ~70 inch wheelbase now but have gone out to 71.5". You cannot move the chain up and down more than an inch right in the middle when it's tight enough that it won't skip any more. Hope it's something this simple for you.

you get a drive chain too tight and you`ll burn up bearings fast. and maybe the engine.

What mods do you have if any ? Is this at the drag strip or street ?

i taught i was the only one that had to do that.. chain slap was an issue also on really hard launches .. even with the chain butt tight when a photo was taken at launch i always had slack..

I couldn't belive it was the chain skipping until, just like you, I saw a side pic on the launch. The slack on the bottom was crazy. Now, the bike is heavy. making decent power and hitting mid 1.3 60's with the 240 pound rider and low 1.3's with a best of 1.29 with the 160 pound rider. That's putting a lot of stress on the chain. Everyone needs to see a pic of their bike on the launch to believe how much slack gets in the chain at that moment. It was definitely eye opening for me.

remove the slipper and install Brocks spacer with 180 shims, that should take care of it.

ok, now I'm off my phone and read this thread lol, hard launch means dead stop and leaving hard right? What rpm is the chatter? Brock asked me before I got his clutch mod if I had chatter leaving at the rpm I leave at "7500", I told him no, my weight is 214 pounds are you heavier? I think if your chain was skipping teeth it would break some off or damage the sprockets really bad.
Waiting for the return report....
