Best Ramp for loading ZX14 into a pick up?
Im looking for a quality Ramp to load and unload my 14 into my pickup. I checked out tractor supply and I worry that the fairing or oil pan will bottom at the top of the ramp as the bike is loaded with their offerings. Anybody know of a good ramp that will not bottom out when driving the bike up? Thanks

I have a curved set from Cabela's I use for the dirt bike and quad, they are supposed to prevent low ground clearance issues. I guess I should try them out on the 14r.

I hate ramps .. I hate trying to put a bike in a pickup ... For a few bucks more than a good alum ramp just get a small trailer with a built in ramp ..

i hear ya i hate it but had to do it yesterday . the curved set worked and im 6in over stock and lowerd. lil tight but with a lil help ur ok .

Im not crazy about ramps either but I rarely transport my bike so a trailer is probably to much $$$

If you rarely have to transport it you can rent a trailer for like 30 bucks.

Any ramp will do the job as long as you find higher ground and park your truck in reverse there..
I loaded mine without any help with a straight ramp..

Like smokin said, you can get a small trailer for what a decent ramp cost.
That pic of the bike in the back of the small bed, no way...
If your talking about once or twice a year, a nice ramp is going to cost ya.

Eklipse636, it was a one time thing, one round trip to the track, just over 500 miles in one day, and everything was just fine..
The next weekend we took a friend's zx12r and made the same trip, and everything was fine again..
I know it's not the best way! But unfortunately it's the only way i have :-)

Easy on easy off and i get 37 MPG on the hwy and 32 in town pulling it fully loaded .. Down side space is limited for tools and other items and the bike is out in the open .. But with the MPG i get i can go more places at less cost ..My corolla doesn't even know the bike and trailer are back there .. I didn't think it would work as good as it does, i was really suprised how well it works ..

(Note the past tense) now if i have to go anywhere that i cant ride the bike doesnt go with.
My S10 is lowered 2" all the way around which helped with loading and not bottoming out. But it did go pretty easy and it was nice and stable on the high way at normal speeds.

keep in mind you can look around and find the ramps cheaper, but you will still pay just as much for a little 4x8 trailer as you will the ramps. The only additional cost of the trailer is plates every year and storage. If you live out of the city far enough storage may not be an issue, but i know some live in the city or in neighborhoods where the HOA's are ridiculously pathetic. all depends on your situation.

Wow Smokin', at 37mph it must take you a long time to get to the track...LOL.
Yeah the van only gets about 19mpg highway loaded up,but its nice to have your bike safe&dry and damage free from road debris,and yes we have slept overnight in it a few times.

I can get a folding ramp from tractor supply for about 140 bucks. I just need to find the right place to load and unload on an angle to prevent bottoming. Go up to Maine a few times a summer and unlike my wife i hate laying onthe beach and roasting. I would rather ride up the coast. Smokin you back to SWB?

No SWB for me .. That was the only picture i had of my trailer and car so i used it ..
