It's still going pretty good around here too. Even on a non-bike specific TNT on Friday night the usual 25 or so bikes show up and there's always 5-10 new guys that no one has even seen before. Considering we live smack dab in the middle of nowhere, I don't think that's all that bad. Inland further, it's really strong.

I think 25 bikes on any given reg TNT is good. Hell, we can't hardly get 25 bikes here to race at our local events! Very frustrating.

Funny thing to me is when they show up. Gates open 5. Racing starts at 7. At 7 there might be 10 bikes or less. They start rolling in around 8 or even later. You would think it might be the heat but this happens in early Spring as well. I don'tknow what it is about grudge racers that don't like to show up or do anything until 10 minutes before the track closes and then they want the owner to keep the track open so they can race. It's a common thing. I just don't understand it.

In the summer, there is no sense in opening a track before 5:30-6:00pm. The track and air are not suitable to run (when money is on the line) until 7:30-8:00pm.

However, after 8pm the grudge racers should get to it. I hate waiting to the last minute to do a race. This is what make track owners dislike grudge racers.

Bracket racing is just as bad, guys take forever to line up for the next round. I something think promoters try to drag the race out as long as they can, hoping for rain or for the track to be oiled down so they don't have to pay when there is a low turn out in the class.

However, motorcycle racing is going strong around here, 20-30 bikes @ four different tracks within about 1 hour drive .
I could race 4-5 days a week if I wanted to.

"in fact if i was to bet on what was gonna crash in a night .. i'd bet bike"

Around here, cars crash and cross the line much more often than bikes. I would say, 8 to1.

I have only seen one bike crash this year, and he stayed in his lane. every other week a car gets in the wall.

The roll cage makes car guys feel too secure, and they stay on the gas too long.

Bike guys roll out much quicker, because they know it can get really ugly really quickly.

now you sound like the insurance guy that most wrecks happen close to the house.. over here on a bracket race the car count is 20 to 1 in a race .. and in the last 3 events i was at not 1 single car even oil down the track .. theres a big differance [HUGE] between race cars with racers at race events and rednecks tnting on a friday nite with worn out tires and a leaking motors and drinking a 60 pack in the process ..

I will say I haven't been racing NEAR as long as some of you guys (I'm only 22) but in the 6 years I've been racing PMRA, I've only seen 3 bikes crash.

Plus I would much rather take my chance on being hit by a 500 pound bike, than a 4000 pound car.Just one of those things that I don't like to do. I do agree on the difference in rednecks and racers though, most the cars I've seen crash are 10 second mustangs driving by idiots.

I agree. Them low budget mustangs love the wall. That is why I don't want to line-up with them; and they are in every race, bracket or other wise.

i've only been to 1 pmra race ..to far to drive and to little payout nowadays ..can't put gas in a truck with a trophy .. i ain't hating... but i saw 1 wreck for sure i think 2 happen when i was there for a big race.. i remember the guy looping a top bike .. .. its kinda like a rear view mirror ...what behind me no matters..

if you get un assed from that motorcycle seat at my age (50) it don't really matter if its a 4000lb car or a 500lb bike .. its gonna hurt for a long time ..

"what behind me no matters.. "
The point of bracket racing is the make sure they (the cars) are beside you at some piont.
