Hard to say. I gear like a motor bike, but no one else does that I know of. Some say run a higher gear but that didn't work for me

I was running 1 tooth up in back on my 06 before I boosted it, and I just left the gearing alone.....i'ts way more than enough at stock length and height, but I'm also 5000ft up. I'm not sure I'd want to gear a turbo 14 down any at or near sea level, even extended and lowered. But I don't do the strip. I guess it would depend on your weight, power output, and riding style I suppose. I'm curious what the racers have to say.

we went the same way on the busa. we couldnt get the thing out the hole for nothing gearing like others said to. Id say its more up to how you ride, but we love to 60 the hell out of a bike.

Exactly. Everyone told us to stack gear on it. What was Sam having to leave the line at when it was geared at 17-40 and then at 17-42? Wasn't it 9000 RPM or even more to keep the motor from bogging badly? I'm anxious to see what the turbo 14 we just bought will be geared at as it's been running for several years now with the previous owner and he's had time to work with all sorts of gearing combinations.

How long was the bike? That's a really tall gearing combo and I'm just wondering if you had to gear the bike like that to prevent a wheelstand because the bike was short.
