I'm also thinking of either the gen 4 or gen 3 for the same reasons you said! this is my street biuke that my wife has been on for 400 of the 600 miles already and just don't want a meg of any kind. I'm layed up right now with my arm so Bigwil I will let you get one first and let me know what you think!

Im in the market for one also and I was thinking about the Gen IV. called Brocks and I was told it was "unknown" when those would be in as there was an issue with something in the manufacturing or something. I would love a CT but I dont want to spend 1800. 00. Maybe Brock will chime in and let us know when the Gen IV's or the Gen III's will be available for the 2012's. I want a 14" Carbon Gen IV.

I had a 14" Gen 3 on my ZRX1200 and it sounds great and is considerably quieter than an Alien Head. If you got the 21" version it would be a lot quieter, and still sound good especially under WOT.

I just installed Brocks street Smeg on two ZX14Rs and found them to have a very nice sound ..Loud No , deep yes .. My alien head 2 makes the street smeg sound very mild .. I haven't sold any gen 3 or 4 pipes yet so i can't say anything about the sound level ... But they are very nice looking pipes ...I'm sure they will make pleanty of power because the head pipes are the same. ( the muffler being the only difference ) .. Might even have a bit more mid range than the Alien head .. The 20 inch street smeg puts the sound behind you , my thinking is it's a great every day street pipe that will still kick butt on the track .. ..

I like my street meg. For the street or the track, I hear it, but not to the point it bothers me. I leave my house about 5 15 AM most mornings. No problems with the neighbors.

Bigwil, what did you think of the street meg on your 06? Too loud?

CT Smeg on my '12 is not too bad at all. Gen 3 on my '06 is much more conservative and traditional. I suspect you'd like it better.

I have the 14" gen 3 and it sounds/looks great. The 20" should be a little quieter.
