320 mph in 1000 feet !!! NHRA keeps trying to slow them down and they just keep going faster ...lol...

Their 1000' speeds have now pretty much matched their old 1/4 mile speeds. It's prolly just a matter of time before the NHRA cuts all the top fuel cars down the an 1/8th mile.

i dont know if they would stay together or not with an extra 320 feet .according to the math what horsepower is it taking to pull these kind of numbers........I LOVE THE SMELL OF NITRO METHANE

The cars have always been heavily restricted with the rear gear. Nobody really knows how much power they make because the more you load the engine the more power it makes. Greatest show on earth, IMO.

I don't belive NHRA will cut the speed down. The reason they cut it short was due to a combination of accidents and speed. They really haven't had alot of accidents since they reduced the distance.
But then again, you never know.... how fast are the TF dragsters going? I am sure a few mph faster than funny car, right?
