Cops nab rider clocked at 193 in the rain

Another one gets nabbed. Going 193 in the rain!!!...article says he was riding a suzuki but they dont specify most likely an unrestricted busa. Dumb!

If it was an unrestricted and moded busa then its possible...otherwise, I guess cops are going around out there with faulty radars then....mistrial or lawsuit if one can prove it....just sayin'.

Unrestricted and modded busa, he says....not a 12R or a 14 or a 14R...only a busa.

But I am with shiphteey on this one, I call BS, it takes a lot to run those speeds, I would like to see the calibration of the RADAR, LASER, or LIDAR that was used...just sayin'.

Lol....I didn't post this or say busa to start some silly argument over zx14 vs busa. If u take time to actually read the article it says he was riding a high performance suzuki. Hence my assumption that it was a busa. It could as well have been a zx12r or a zx14 but it wasn't. I know this is a kawi site but no need to get testy or offended just because it wasn't a zx12r or a zx14.....nuff said

I guess he was speeding to attract attention in the first place but they say the state troopers "clocked" his motorcycle at 193 on wet roads. What exactly did they use to determine his speed?

There are certain radar guns which have been banned in some countries because of accuracy issues. I know that the ones used here in the UK were never initially tested on motorcycles before gaining Home Office approval because they simply don't work on motorcycles. They require a flat forward-facing surface to reflect the beam, fine on cars and trucks but something which most motorcycles do not have. The slippage that this causes always results in an over-read, not to mention the slippage caused by hand-holding the radar gun, so they didn't bother to test them on bikes. I heard that the manufacturer even protested about this, not that it stops our police using them to prosecute bikers.

I'm not anti-cop or pro-speeding on public roads but cases like this always worry me.

Reread the artical it said clearly he was 19 miles per hour over in rain , the RAIN at 19 over to a cop is as dangerous as 193, do you see the keystroke error !
whats all the worry over big speed , quit getting caught, and at least you know he wasen't rideing a Harly!

But if you follow the link from the article to the New York State Police press release that says 193.

So is it a hoax?

Small state? Upstate is all open highway. I'm from the same area. I-90 and I-87 are both pretty well maintained and basically straight lines.

No one's getting offended bro....but at 193....generally speaking....getting caught isn't something that you're really worried about, even on a zx12r:
