Hey Zach;
I wasn't aiming anything at you.I got tired of hearing that loudmouth. That was a fun ride and I usually never ride like that.Averaging 80 for 2 hrs.I'm just an average rider at best.I still want to hit 185 just once. Then put my +2 Vortex back on.The bike was a hoot with that gearing.

I know bud. You are still gonna get me on the run-up to 185. Now 195?

Well just got back from riding with a few buddies for a couple of hours. First off i was one of the guys that had the BAD bucking down low on my bike, but after yestarday when the flies were pulled and i added a tooth to the rear sprocket its completey gone. Who knows which one cured it and i don't care, buts its gone. Anyway went riding with a couple of friends to finally test the 14 in the real world.......and OH MY GOD. First guy has a 2007 busa full hindle exhaust and tune, and -1 +2 gearing and he weighs around 205.He has been riding his bike for many miles and is a very soilid rider. Next guy has a 2008 gsxr 1000,full exhaust and he also has -1 +2 gearing and weighs around 190. Now i have a 2012 zx14r with ct single and street map and new gearing -1 +1 gearing, and just pulled the flies. I weigh 170 and have a stock height and stock length bike. Well you all know what i'm going to tell you......it was a complete killing.

-----I'm not sure how you consider this a "race"? Clearly you had the deck stacked in your favor, no? Gen 1 Busa with a heavier rider and short gearing just means you are going to walk away and keep pulling even harder as he sits on the rev limiter going about 175...assuming he even goes that high. And as for the 1000 with a heavier guy....and again geared to rip through the gears and peter out up top....again, glad you're out there doing it but I suggest maybe handicapping it a bit. I have found that it makes things interesting. For example if I'm on a 600 I will go against a heavy guy on a 1000....or a middleweight guy on a 750. If my light ass jumps on the 12 I can assure you, with all due respect to the Busa, older 14 and even the newer 14R that most of the time I can and will pull away. Your bike has the HP and torque advantage, and as a smaller rider you should have an aero advantage up top too....in essence this was never really a "race" per se....but just a couple of buddies goofing off on the hwy. I do that shit too, its fun. I would say you should try and find a smaller skilled rider on one of the older bikes mentioned above to give you a run for the money, assuming they were setup properly for the type of run you want to do AND were willing to STAY IN IT. Not head above the windscreen cuz they're scared shit. Not 80% throttle in 6th as their mind keeps telling them they will go to jail or die. If you are ever in the DC area give me a shout maybe we can see how my old street 12 fairs against your 14R. I am willing to bet you will pull out in the earlier portion of the run due to the torquier nature of your bike. But making that initial gap STICK till the deep end is a whole different ball game.

First off we raced from all different starting points [well they tried to get a race for them to win] but this bike has soooo much power that no matter what we did once i got to 3rd gear and was able to go full throttle i just RAN away from them. The funny thing was with all the new gearing at least 3 times i ran into the rev limter and almost went over the bars, not used to it reving so fast with all the gearing and i still had time to relax and shift and got back to the killing. So all and all a great time, and all i can say if you don't have a new 14 and run into one on the street set up anywhere near mine with a lighter rider just don't try to fuck with him, you'll get embarrsed pretty bad.

-----Again, I disagree, it isn't just about the bike, its always about the bike/rider combo....from setup to skills to raw determination. Having a shit ton of HP and torque makes your job a little easier I will admit.

But again the weird thing was with the new rear sprocket and flies removed the down low bucking was gone. i will let the smarter poeple on this site try and figure this one out. Oh and with the flies gone and dry roads i felt the difference with the flies out. Nothing mind blowing but a nice improvment, but the new gearing stole the show, that was awesome,it's a complete monster now.

----Best wishes,

A.

Yeah i never said i was behind i just couldn't pin the gas till then. And the last post shows all of you guys ignorance BIG TIME,you wouldn't gear down a bike, well let me tell you guys something, Most of us are street guys here who love to gear down a STOCK height bike and stock length, because we like the extra pull,we all dont spend are time, gunning it off the line for a 1/4 mile. Around here most of the guys who strech their bikes are fuckin tools and posers on a busa, and they are mostly heavy black guys who don't know have to drive a bike. Me i like to ride it like a SPORTSBIKE,and i like to even wheelie now and then. So don't worry lil man how or what i do to my bike,it's set up for how I LIKE TO RIDE. Now go some where else lil troll.

If you had half a clue...you'd figure out that if you went the OTHER way with your gearing, you'd actually be able to take advantage of the power without the front end going straight up. You've LOST the ability to accelerate. You've already stated you can't go wide open until THIRD gear....I think you are showing your ignorance there.

HAHA sad to say but its true,i was toppin out 4th gear and missed going into 5th. WHAM the bike hits the redline HARD. But i can tell you never did that,or you wouldn't be doubting me.

i top out in 4th in the 1/4 and hit the limiter almost every time right after the line....I don't get "slammed" into the bars? Am I doing something wrong?

That was just one aspect of the "STORY" that told me it never happened.

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

This is missing a gear. I'm in the right lane. I didn't completely press the button on the shifter.
I didn't get slammed into the bars.

btw...I'll be up in the N. GA mountains (Skeenah gap) riding this upcoming weekend if you want to bring that 14 up to get schooled by lesser equipment. :^)
