Installing Flies Screws...What Loctite?
As title states...went to take them out and stripped 4 of them, and got 2 out. just going to say forget it and put the two screws back in. as its an 09 anyways...didnt have this problem on my 2006 *grumbles*
what have any of you used when re-installing them? will red hold up? or should i get that yellow/green industrial?

thats what i was thinking, ive seen other posts saying the KHI flies loctite is super secret special formula that cant be duplicated lol.

Red Loctite 262 has to be heated with a torch to come apart. Should be more than enough! Also, remember one crossed thread = two drops of loctite. ;-)

There's multiple threads on removing flies here. Remember heat is your friend when removing them. I could smell when the loctite melted when I took mine out. Just keep the tip of your screwdriver hot.

I used a soldering iron on each screw for a minute or 2.......then carefully eased it out a bit at a time keeping the screwdriver squared up. They came out so clean you literally can't even tell a screwdriver ever touched them. Heat, a good screwdriver, and a little patience IS you're friend  And with the heat you won't have to push so hard you bend the secondaries actuator rod and get a fault code and possibly limp mode.

Im in illinois. i think i may try to get them.the rest of the way out. I believe there are 6 left in. I used a snap on screwdriver last time I removed them on my 06 and didn't use any heat at all. This time I tried using a snap on multi-bit screwdriver as my other tools are in a different town :-(

Got them out. Ended up using my Tool Shop brand long shank screwdriver I bought from menards a LONG time ago...who would hav thought a 3 dollar screwdriver would work. Didn't use any heat either
