Turbo Exhaust Sound Greetings,
I'm considering the purchase of a '12 ZX14 along with a turbo system for the street.
While my snowmobile is turbo'd from the factory, the exhaust exits through a large muffler, and even at full throttle its very quiet.
But, when I look at turbo'd 14s, all I see is a stub pipe for the exhaust to exit through, and no muffler.
Am I missing something here, or is this all that's available to control the exhaust noise?
If this is so, how loud is a turbo'd 14 set up for the street?
I don't mind a little extra noise, but I'd prefer to be considerate to the other motorists on the road, as well as people I pass on the street.

Mine is actually not that loud not offensive by any means. You can always put a traditional exhaust on the turbo as well I am sure it will slightly hinder performance but it shouldn't even e noticeable.

Mine is really quiet compared to the sidewinder i used to have before the turbo. But it's still loud enough that you get noticed because the exhaust sounds real cool especially at idle,it has a whirring sound.

Thanks for your thoughts on this!

I just bought a turbo 14 with a full exhaust out behind the turbo. It's super quiet. As in quieter than even my N/A 14 with a Muzzy M14/M10 exhaust and that bike has always been the quietest bike at the track whenever we go.

The 2 1/4 pipe and megaphone on my cycle concepts based exhaust is pretty raucous compared to my busa , it has a 2 1/2 pipe 2 1/2 straight through muffler (modified yosh rs3)
and i'm not realy inclined to fit the baffle to the 14 , it looks too restrictive
Sort of need to have at least the appearance of an full exhaust around here , the roadbikes i have played with all have full systems, and race bikes , either a dump for drag or a rear exit big bore for LSR
Depending on your state or countrys laws sometimes its just down to preference
The 2 `1/2 full system on the busa is a little quieter than most NA bike full systems, but deeper .... and it whistles
