Fork leak help.
Saw smoke as I stopped to check my phone. I get off and see oil all over my calipers and rims. I then realize my fork is busted. My tire also had white patches all over it. I ordered a used fork, pirelli diablo, and a jack stand. My question is, will this jackstand be good enough to remove the fork? I think I ordered the wrong one. (First time changing a fork). Here is the picture of the stand I bought on ebay and under are various pictures of the fork/bought items. Thank you.

Here is the fork I ordered:

Here is my issue:

and lastly, here is the tire I ordered (Pirelli Diablo)

Thank you for your help!

No idea, I bought a whole fork tho. Kinda glad this happened, I had like 10 miles left on my front tire before it blew.

Ouch. That stand will have your forks resting on the stand.

I use a engine hoist ( cherry picker ) , strap it around the upper trees and lift it up .. Easy as pie ..

Methinks more going on with yer forks than yer lettin on PLUS...a new tire?...what about RIM...new rim as well?????
IF you get a pin type stand...you won't need any jack or anything under there.Pitbull makes a pin stand..but there's lots of em out there. You need to get that frontend free of any stands or stand forks.Anything attaching to the axle,forks...any of that...it won't work.

I used a ratchet strap, wrapped around one of the ceiling joists to hold the tree when I was rebuilding my CBR. There are better answers, but prob not a cheaper one. If your joists are not exposed in your garage, a solid hook can be screwed into the joist.
Of course, I would take Smokin's offer if you are close enough for that.

The hoist and a good strong strap is all you need to hold it up .. It's not going anywhere ..

You'll want to put the back end on a stand too to help steady the bike while the front end is up.

If you dont support from the tree, it is likely to tip.
I was going to lower my front through the forks using a fork stand and a jackstand under the engine, I narrowly saved the bike from tipping, even with the rear on a stand. I decided to wait on lowering the front.

Ah sorry jens, already bought one and this seller isn't responding back to me : (. I appreciate the offer. As far as ceiling joists, where did you get one? Home depot or something? got a link to one?

The ceiling joist is just the beam. If you have a finished garage (mine had no sheetrock hung in the ceiling) you would need to get a heavy duty storage hook to screw into the beam in the ceiling.

either get the right stand to do a fork change. or like smokin said, use the hoist. I wouldnt mess with jackstands on a 14 period.

It's very obvious that your fork is bent in the picture. What did you hit?
You say you have had bad luck this month. Is it bad luck, or not following routine Maintance like you should? You said you were on your last 10 miles before your front tire was going to blow... That's asking for trouble.
As for replacing your front fork, you might want to pay someone to do it. It's not a very hard job to do, but if you don't have the proper tools it makes it more difficult.
Next time before buying stuff, post here and ask us. A lot of guys here know these bikes front to back (and everything in between) and they will be more than happy to make sure you get what you need.
P.S.
If you come in here like goldwingboy/gixxerjohn (we have come to the conclusion it's the same person, or two really dumb people that log on 15 seconds apart) you will get bashed.
