front stand / pins or pads?
I plan on ordering a set of Black Widow rear/front stands for my 2012 ZX-14R. I'm getting the spooled rear stand, but not sure whether to get the pin or pad front stand. What do you guy's feel is more stable and a better bet, a pin front stand or a pad front stand? Thanks for any help.

I have both, it depends what I am at with the bike. I usually use the pad one though, unless I am pullin the shocks out than I use the pin stand.

i use the pin stand so removal of the front wheel is possible.
Plus you can turn the bars to work on anything if you need to. The fork stand you are unable to move the bars unless you want the bike to fall off the stand.

Thanks for the replies fellas. When I said "pin", I was refering to the pins that go into the holes at the bottom of the front forks (the cheaper type front stand). Sounds like this type of pin front stand may damage the front forks, so I think I'm leaning toward the pads.

Why would they damage forks?
I thought holes are for pins.
Btw you can remove front tyre if you remove fender.

Ok, that's my fault.. i was under the impression you were referring to a different type of pin stand.
I have only ever used the triple tree pin stand. The other front stand i used was the fork stand. it had round pads/bumpers that sat on the bottom of the forks and supported it. I had horrible luck with that type so i went with the triple tree pin stand and have loved it ever since.
Sorry for the confusion..
