sad day for me today.

The deal was done tonight and my beloved ZX14 was sold. I am gonna miss her. She has been a great machine. Now I can only look at her until she rides away on Friday.......its a sad day

I've been thinking about selling mine. We have some similar mods. If you don't mind me asking, what is your mileage and what did you sell it for? I have about 10,800 miles on my 2006.

Shawnski not sure yet, leaning toward a used b-king or multistrada 1200, considering the 14r also and the concours.

slates I did very well. 14,300 miles. I got 9.5k

Thanks. I have a few other mods not in my signature and I was thinking in that range or I couldn't part with it.

I know the feeling bro....

epd345:

First of all yours was a beautiful bike. Obvious that you lavished much love on it and it sounds like you found the buyer who "paid" reasonably for what you did to yours. When I sold my '07, it was a...sick feeling. Took me a good while to get used to it being...gone, but selling to an out of town buyer helped because I definitely didn't want to see it around being ridden by..... That said, we have a ton of great bike choices out there now so I know you will find the next...right bike bro. Count yourself blessed for the $9500 toward the next thing. Of course, I am pulling for you to get a 14R and I am diving in that pool soon myself.

Good luck,

Leo

I know exactly how you feel. It was the same for me when I sold my 2006 14 and I don't think the guy who bought it even knew what he'd got - one of the first 14's in the world over 200mph with nine tickets at +200 and a 9 second quarter-miler.

Two sports 1000's later (**) and my new 2012 14R feels familiar, comfortable, blindingly quick and oh so right. Just waiting for our crazy weather to sort itself out now.

(**) A Honda CBR1000RR and Aprilia RSV4 Factory, both great bikes but "something" was missing.

Yes I agree, once they are prepping your new machine, you will have forgotten about your loss. Then your mind will be flooded with what you will be modifying

I had big time sellers remorse when I sold my Blackbird too. For months and months I regretted selling that bike to the newbie I did. I had just put on new tires, new battery, redid the front forks and the bike was riding better than ever. Then I found my 08' 14 and the regret of selling the Bird' faded quickly once I got used to the new bike.

Just got done pulling all the old parts out of the basement and giving them to the new owner as the bike was just picked up. I think I dropped a nut moving the box with the stock headers and pipes in them. forgot how much of boat anchors those things were!!!. Im calling around to get prices, not sure which bike I am going go with but I have dealers working the numbers on the 14r and I found a brand new leftover B-king which Im thinking about. Course I am thinking about the Connie also. Im going to take my time. In no rush.

Wow, $9.5K for a 2007 zx14? I would have guessed maybe $7K on a really good day.
Congrats and happy hunting for a new one.

I've got a 14R, and a B-King. If you havn't ridden a King before----do it. It's no 14R, but it's fast and comfortable, and removing the stock exhaust, and replacing with almost any aftermarket slip-on's greatly improves the appearance. I really think if it had not been for those god-awful looking stock cans on that bike, it would have been a sales success.

Went with black, I was up in the air between Green and Black but dealers think the Green SE is like gold, I saved a few more $$$ going with black. The dealer had both in stock.
