BadGuy, no doubt my 14r is faster than my 09, I raced my 09 2 years, 5.60's only happened a few times in great air, I can run 5.60's now with a 2400ft da. It should run 5.60's in the heat of the summer, my 09 wouldn't do that.
I'm 54 years old, enjoying my new 14r, having fun at the drag strip most every weekend with allot of fun people, everybody here knows you hate the 2012 ZX-14r performance, just try and ease up a little please.

no you are implying that i was crazy cause i don't agree with what your selling .. just like you don't agree with what i'm selling ..but i see an 8.75 as 4 years ago..
and didn't you make it a know fact you just got out of the hospital and had meds ... i didn't say nothing about your family .. you got issues if anytime somebody brings up the word meds you flip out..

you guys are making the zx14R as if its the greatest thing since harley invented the motorcycle ... its already being claim as an 8.30 bike on paper .. when it hasn't even done anything yet to set it as a record setter .. i'm not hating.. just its alot better to brag after the fact than before the fact .. can't we run the number 1st then say hey it runs 8.30's .. or are we down to being like Vmax guys .. Vmax beats all stock sportbikes...

no i won't buy 1 ..$16,000.00 otd has crossed the line .. i'll buy a KIA with a roof and A/C and a radio and put a dial-in on it .. and can carry 3 womens and get the same gas mileage.. and throw beer cans at zx14r's as i ride down the highway.. styling and profiling

Where does this 8.30 thing come from ? I have never said that myself .. I feel strongly that i can run high 8.40s with a good air and a nice clean pass .. but 8.30s not going to happen with my bike as it is now .. I will bet money a ZX14R will run 8.30s with a pro light weight jokey and more weight removed from the bike .. For me it all about what i can do with pump gas and still have the bike fully streetable daily driver .. I think that will say more about the bike than a stripped , tricked out bike running 130 dollar for 5 gallons of race fuel .. If my bike never runs faster that 8.50 i'm ok with that .. It is what it is ..

this is 1 of them 8.30 predictions.. theres also a whole thread of guessing ...

my comments are not focus on you and your bike .. your 1 of the few that have really done something with your bike..it be better if you went to events .. win or lose at least you entered the event... it is focus on most of the general public that post that don't even own a zx14r.. that have it as on paper as an low 8.30 bike or as a guess it can run or believe it can run .. how about somebody do the 8.30 1st .. how about somebody just run the 8.42 stock motor thing and get it over with and make the zx14r king of stock motor.. how about a 315mph zx14r LSR bike .. and its not just hype then .. but as of 2006 the zx14 has not set any records to make it the premier bike ... neither has the vmax since 1985 .. but VMAX BEATS ALL SPORTSBIKE just ask them ..
wait i've got the fastest 835lb zx14 stock motor 1 power adder on the planet with red fairings and black tail section with license plate, sticker ,insured, streetbike on e85... that makes at least 12 passes a weekend.. but since i've got a black tail section and the custom paint weight is less it don't count... see how silly that sounds..

Wee, I think you're doing great and representing the 14r crowd quite honorably. Now this is just my opinion of course but I think the new 14r and the old school 14 are a tad closer in performance mod for mod than is being predicted/represented or whatever the correct wording may be. Please do not read into this that I do not think the 14r is all that. I believe it is the current Alpha Male in the motorcycle world. I'd gladly trade my '09 Monster Edition for a like modded '12 in a heartbeat. Given that I've now run into a couple of '12 14r's set up like my bike is and, at least in the 1/8th mile, I'm a good match for them. I'm running a tad quicker at a tad higher MPH at the same track on the same day and I've got the heavier rider. With my ligher rider, at least on the one's I've seen, I've got them covered pretty good. When my bike gets traction. I should mention that. Now I'm not running Wee's (or SmokinZX14's especially) times but close but that's at a different track on a different day so it's kinda hard to compare apples to apples like that. Still, we're running really close so I'll stick to my guns and say the two bikes are closer in performance than is being predicted/represented. Please Wee and Smokinzx14, do not read into this that I think what you guys are doing isn't fantastic. I just believe if either of you rode my bike on the same track and same day as your bikes, it'd be VERY close in performance to what you run, not the 9.20's to 9.10's that I saw predicted for modded ZX14's. Thanks for reading and I hope I'm not coming across badly here.
Now, I'm slightly modded, engine wise but according to my tuner I'm making 3 more horsepower on his dyno than a bone stock bike with a pipe and power commander so my engine mods didn't translate into a huge horsepower advantage for me vs any garden variety 1st gen ZX14 than one is likely to run into any time, anywhere.

there has already been a gen one14 that run 830s with a stock motor, put 20 more horsepower on that bike and you're looking at low 8.12 put that in your unbelievable 8.20s and smoke it.

To add a little something, my 17-51 gearing is at 11,000 on the tach at the traps in the 1/4 mile, Lucky14 was at the 1000ft and said it shifts to 6th right at that point, anyone lighter than me might be in the limiter.

Busa that went 8.42 was never backed up(ET)- no one else rode it, no one else will. It was a really low key accomplishment for a reason.
Why do you think the beemer was getting nutswinged on when it went 8.40's?
The "record" holding busa was virtually unknown unless you dig deep "psychobike" .
Shady to say the least- the 8.42.
But what do I know?

BUT I CAN BUY A 5000.00 gen1 ..sell the stock motor for 1,500.00 . and get a built motor off psychobike for 5,000.00 .. that leaves 11,500.00 to invest... so yes 20k can buy alot of speed if your smart on how you spend it..

Supposedly they left special reflectors on the moon. When you shine a laser on the proper coordinates it reflects back.... I saw it on mythbusters... Hey Maybe MB should do a show about the 8.42 Busa... I'd watch that.

Blah fuckin' blah, blah. The new 14R is a great bike. There will always be skeptics and controversy. Bottom line . . . ride / buy / race what you choose. Do the best you can with whatever man/machine combo ya got......PERIOD. There is no need to measure dicks here. "Smokin'" Lee Pritchard, Wee, Shane661, etc. are all great contributors to the performance of the bike. You don't like the new bike or those dedicated to making it better, stronger, faster, 1Bad? Okay...it is what it is. Oh and I get what you're comparo is....the best ever pre-14R passes with the new one in its infant stages.... let's shut up for now and see what the future holds....just an idea...
