Pyramid Plastics Rear Hugger Fitting Problems
Just received the Pyramid Plastics Rear Hugger for the 14r. Beautifully made, and painted......but.......some fitting problems.
Right mount flange had the welded nuts full of paint, so their supplied bolts would not screw into them for the right side frame mount.
Furnished bolt head sheared off when attempting to chase the paint out of the threads, had to mount it into a vise to hold it for thread chasing process.
Right rear mount hole was drilled about 1/4" too low, thus not providing enough clearance for the rotating tire.
Had to mount the left rear plastic flange on the inside of the stock vertical mount stud instead of the outside where it would look better to allow the hugger to flex up, so it would clear the tire.
Nicely made rear hugger, but it should have fit more easily and have more tire clearance for $186.00 delivered.

It was exactly the same fitting problem with Gen2 Busas too.
So they have not learned about previous cases, shame!!!

why did`nt you call them and tell them to send a ups pick up label .they can refund my money if they can`t get it correct.that`s how you get them to get it right.now they will say you altered it so no warranty if it cracks most likely..

To answer your question truthfully.....I made it fit. Spent two hours making it work, instead of 15 minutes installing it!
I did not want to go thru the trouble of shipping, returning, and waiting for another unit from UK to be delivered. I can make a small flange if necessary and raise up the rear of the hugger for more clearance. It does clear now, but it is a very close relationship between the bottom of the hugger and the top of the tire.
Just would have hoped that such a nice looking hugger would be better fitting right out of the box with no mounting or hardware issues.
