WOW 14 not the same in warmer weather

Went on a 83 mile ride and just got back, today is the first day i rode the bike in temps. above 55-60,today it was in the 80's. Well usally when i get on the bike in 2nd or 3rd gear around 9000 or so full throttle the bike starts to get really crazy and shakin hits head it makes me laugh in my helmet it amazing i usally go holyshit, but today it just pulled nice and smooth[dare i say boring] and i couldnt belive i was red lining it and nothing really happens it feels like its down 10 horsepower up top. Now i know what u dragracers mean when u complain about heat and humity,it kind of sucks.I love the bike its that i was riding in perfect weather, now that its getting warmer it doesnt feel that crazy as it used to compared to my older 14 and 1000's.

No way you should feel any kind of power loss like that. You say you've had other zx 14's and litre bikes, so you would know that this isn't normal.

Well i guess you got a lemon .. I'll tell you what , i'll give you 3500 cash and sell it to my buddy Teddy for 3500 .. Teddy blew up his ZRX and needs a new bike and i don't think he will mind if it's down 10 hp in the heat ..

haha no thanks smokin, but am i crazy the heat seems to take away some of the bite. Its always been like that with all my bikes, here in jersey in the winter you would get an ok day in the 40's or 50's and you would take out your bike and it would pull like a beast,i guess i was always riding my 14r in the cold and the first real warm day i wasn't used to it zaping some power thats all.

ATCO thats where all the fastest times are set .. with them -3000 ft days ....so i say your right .. when you get a 1000ft day it suxs .. but try texas average around 3500ft with 100% humidity and 100+ degrees ..

not first gear shane im not that crazy, but zx12mark your right on point,i mean every bike i've ever owned did this a lil,i guess this is the first bike i rode in cold weather for awhile and then it got warm out. Hell brocks lasteset video on the 14 he said once it gets warm and hazy in a couple of weeks in ohio his slugger 14 will be down about 10hp on his dyno so i guess brocks crazy too!!!!

I would say that going from 55-60 degrees to 80+ degrees will make enough of a difference in performance that you could measure at the dragstrip. If you could feel it for sure with the butt dyno then you've got a sensitive butt. There's a reason that world record drag times are almost never set in July and August. From best to worst air here in eastern NC there's about .2 and 2-3 MPH difference in performance at the track when the DA goes from -1000 in the early Spring and late Fall to +2500 in July, Auguest and into September. That much of a difference can be picked up by even the not so sensitive butt dyno's.

Yep! The 14R is the only motor of any kind that's affected by heat/himidity. He knows it all, but no way would he do wot in first gear... What a TOOL.

My guess would be that the clown doesn't even have a bike, much less a 14

He might have a busa though

This guy cruises around at 8900 rpm in 2nd or 3rd and then he decides to "get on it"

That's funny, really funny.

Agreed. When the DA is good, my bike wheelies perfect and will sit the tire down in 2nd, when it's hot the tire only "skips" off the ground, and it has more of a tendency to bog.

I'll try to take this post seriously and say if you "really believe" that you are losing 10 HP and can literally feel a SIGNIFICANT decrease in power just from a change in the weather from 60-80 degrees there is likely something wrong with your bike. If you installed your own Brocks full system, (or even if you didn't), I would check for an exhaust leak or anything that would upset your AFR and ultimately whatever Map you are using.

I just tried to offer you an explanation as to why it feels not so strong. The temp difference you mentioned at first will usually not make a performance difference you can feel unless the barometric pressure also bottomed out sending the DA skyward hence my reply that if you can feel that difference, you've got a sensitive butt dyno. And as far as telling that to you to your face, I'll gladly do it. No problem whatsoever. I'm two of most people on here and three of some.
