Cam sensor ?

Hoping someone here can help me figure out whats happening with my 08 zx14
Turned it off yesterday then several hrs later tried to start it and now getting a error code 23 cam sensor short circuit or incomplete circuit , the sensor has 43k ohm resistance through it , and i have continuity from the wires to ecu

Is there something i'm missing ?

The FI code comes up immediately i key on, gauges don't even finish cycling
????

Did you check all sensor wires + connectors for damage? Resistance should be between 376 and 564 ohms.
43k sounds like damaged sensor pickup coil.

Same thing happened to my son's 14 after swapping to an aftermarket ignition rotor. Same code would display but would not always fire off.

If you're running a different advancer, install the oem part and try it.

i been down this road a few times ..always turned out to be a grounding issue .. except on 1 zx12 it busted the cam chain what was lucky or just freaky ..it did it in a spot where the motor could turn without hitting the valves..

Thanks for the suggestions will do a bit more checking today
manual has me confused a little, says to set to 10x and resistanse should be 400-460 ohm, is that 4000-4600 or 400-460 ?? Samin from your answer i will check again and see if i missed a 0. and consider it 400-460

Dan that sort of thing is what i'm wondering ? std advancer but a piggyback controler hardwired in , and it has a dodgy crank position pin in the piggyback connector ,kept backing out , waiting on a new loom to fix it , but thought i had it fixed firm and has tuned ok till now, will look further on that circuit too

And i will check the gnds too out wih the sandpaper , with piggyback, water inj pump ,wideband etc this has a lot of current moving around , and i am using several chassis mount points

Its 432 ohm i missed the 0. in 0.43k ohm
Pretty sure nothing is wrong with the sensor or wiring to the cam sensor , what bugs me is the fault code is immediate at key on, if i induce other faults it takes a second for self diagnosis at key on , and can't even find a crank sensor fault if i unplug that

.02 ohm gnd resistance was the most i found

OK so sensor itselfs sounds good, so as grounding.
If harness is all good, it could be ECU problem.
Do you have any mods on bike?
Have you checked battery terminals and voltage?

Have you tried just crank it ? http://www.zx14ninjaforums.com/messages.cfm?threadid=1898D40D-D56B-84E2-1BED30D960ADC01F&page=1&#13

Turns and turns, no life , going to put a car battery on jumpers and try turning it over lots and see if i can get the response like in your link

Yep , turbo with piggyback controller, all working fine untill i started it to show friends, just idling and small revs , then turned it off, came back several hrs later and get this error code...
going to revisit the piggyback connection(AEM-FIC) to the crank sensor too, tests fine at the AEM , and have a bypass jumper to eliminate the AEM , but will verify i have not got a cracked wire at a solder join ,
