Zx14r brakes?

Just picked up my bike today. This is my 3rd ZX14.
The front brakes suck!
I swear I have to use two hands when grabbing the lever to stop!
My last 14 (08) I could stop on a dime using two fingers!

Please tell me something isn't right!
What should I look at/for?

Thanks!

The stock front brakes on my 07 are so strong they're almost too much. Best brakes I've ever used on a bike by far. I hope kawi didn't go messing with a good thing just for the hell of it, that would be a REAL pisser.

Make sure to bed in the new pads properly. If you hammer on them to early you could glaze the pads over. I would also scrub the rotors with some soap and water to make sure there nothing on the rotors.

Mine isn't that bad. I actually stopped pretty quick from 45mph with only my pointer finger just to see if I could. It's not as strong as my speed triple front break, but not many bikes are.

I thought they gust needed bedding. I put 120 easy miles on her without any hard stops but the brakes absolutely suck!!!
Really hard pull on the lever!
Rotors all show marks from the pads.
Kind of wondering if the rotors had a coating on them for shipping and the dealer didn't clean them off?

I agree with others, I have had several 14's and this one stops as good if not better. Must be that bike.

Went back to the dealer first thing this morning. Service manager took it for a ride.
Came back and asked me if I could wait.
Turns out they didn't properly clean the protective coating on the rotors.
Put another 150 miles on it today, brakes are the way I remember them!

I'll just add that the dealer took apart the calipers, re cleaned the rotors, cleaned the pads, and pressure washed everything. Front and back.
The service manager apologized for what happened and said if I wanted them to order new pads they would.
Although someones slip up on doing a proper cleaning of the rotor coating could of caused an accident, I'm just glad my new bike is good to go now!
