Anyone Near LA that wants an ECU Re-flashed?
I posted this before but only had 99 views so maybe this will get more action. There is a company in LA, Flash Tune that flashes ECUs for $150. with free updates and sells self flashing software for $350. but they need a ZX14 to test and tune on their dyno so they can verify their work. They have been doing Yamahas and Suzuki and want to do Kawasaki but need a bike. Guys this is the alternative we have been waiting for! Cheaper and self tuning capability. Someone get their bike their for the good of the group.
Here is their link you can read all about them.

BTW, You might want to ask a few questions before you hand over your bike. How long will they need your bike? What are they going to modify? Are they going to guarantee that they will cover anything that goes wrong? How long will your bike be on the Dyno?
... Just my 2 cents, I made sure that I asked ECUnleashed the same questions before I gave them my bike. I did have several second thoughts but luckily I do know the owner of the local tuning center and have worked with him in the past. How fucked up would it be if they blew up your bike and said, sorry dude go back to the Kawasaki dealer, its under warranty!!!

All good points but this really isn't rocket science for computer geeks. I wish I was closer as well. This is what we have all been waiting for.

I have used Tuneboy for Triumphs for nearly 10 yrs and editor for Suzukis more recently
Be great to have this sort of ability on the Kawasakis
Sort of sorry to see RR not release his stuff first though , i'm sure they have the ability by now

That is not a bad idea. If everyone with a 14 would send them an email they would get the idea we are INTERESTED in this.

My bike has been tied up for the better part of 5 weeks at this point, and as far as I can tell currently my bike has had 34 dyno runs. It’s not rocket science but shit does happen, my ecu took a shit while they were doing whatever it is they do. I am glad that I asked all the questions also, and also have an extended warranty.

Had you sent out your ecu to be flashed prior to the breakdown?

I would be interested in the ability to tune my own but we are track only and can't send our ecu in for every track that we go to.

No I did not send out my ECU to be reflashed, it is all being done locally. My ECU was reflashed at the local ECUnleashed dealer where they are doing all the "dyno testing" for the new files.

In my opinion this is the problem with "ecu unleashed" they are selling the software to people that may not have the full knowledge of ecu to be messing with them and then when they do something wrong they have no way of fixing it. I have read a few stories of ecu unleashed ECUs messing up and the ecu being sent back and forth trying to get them fixed.

Actually Bob one of the guys behind the scenes is talking directly with Kawasaki and the numbers are already impressive (more HP than the other 2 guys I know who are doing this). Whenever you modify or mess with stuff there is always a chance that "shit happens" will be factored in. The people doing this are professionals and "know" what they are doing. For the record the problem occurred while working with the flies and monitoring the voltage, which the 2012 does NOT like. It’s all warrantied and taken care of, now the new file is being tested..
