Wee you know how hard it was for me to go 5.60 on my old ZX14s .. I had to have a good tune , good air , killer 60 foot time and very very clean pass to run that number .. You at 210 pounds on your new ZX14R did that with half the mods i needed on my Gen 1 zx14 and with only a few trips to the track .. A little more seat time you will be banging off 5.50s ..Like Brock said "Once the package comes together it's going to fly " First words we will hear will be "ringer " spray " built motor " Get used to hearing that because it's going to happen alot ..

THAT is getting it DONE Wheelie - Nice pass!

Now, considering that it requires an additional 2-3 RWHP to pick up 1 MPH you MUST have picked up power - if we only look at you previous time tickets as a guide, that is... so it must have been THE MAP?! He-he, sorry - couldn't resist and welcome to my world. Can you imagine what my staff deals with on a daily basis, using your personal frustration as a guide?

We have to figure out the strengths and weaknesses of each new bike and learn from both... it's not easy figuring out track-based problems with no track available during the winter months here in Ohio.

It’s great to have members like you, Smokin, Shane, Seno and Kawitom and more helping figure things out for US ALL with the new 14R.

THANK YOU all!

This is Brocks "Deluxe" Clutch Mod Package, ZX-14R Clutch Mod Kit (clutch mod/shim adjustable top hats/springs & .180 shims) + our new shim adjustment kit to fine tune everything. I have proven this modification works on a 14r, my mph increased and my et's have dropped.

Weather permitting more testing will be done this weekend on the14r, these should be available soon, just contact Brock Performance to get his technical info on this product, all I know is it works, Brock can tell you why and how it works....

Hows the clutch feel wheelie? is the pull noticeably harder and is it snappier and less mushy?

kaw-rick the 2011 ZX-10r video is exactly like the 2012 ZX-14r clutch, I did mine without removing the fairing, I just loosened the lower bolts of the fairing, and installed the Brocks clutch mod.

ZX14Mike, the oem clutch feels like the gen 1 when street riding, but after making a one hard run at the drag strip the clutch feels mushy, Smokin can confirm this as he and I discussed this, after the Brocks clutch mod it's totally different, the clutch has a much firmer feel, even after hot lapping the 14r.

I was a little disappointed in my 14r performance at the drag strip, first trip it would not get the wheelie pop in 2nd gear like my 09 did, I used washers to shim the clutch, it did help, went a 10th quicker than the stock setup, but my mph stayed the same, still disappointed.

I was still not satisfied with performance, Brock asked me to try his new clutch mod, really I didn't want to, I was not a believer in those, I thought shims would help me, I was wrong.

After the deluxe clutch mod install I went .15 faster in the 1/8th mile than my first trip, and I was riding the 14r hard that first trip. I also picked up 2-3 mph in the 1/8th mile. I can't wait till this weekend to see if I can get the 14r to run 5.50's with me on it at 210 pounds in street clothes.

You might get coil binding if you don't use the Brocks springs, I would suggest using the spring keepers from Brock with this setup.

Wee/Brock,

Did you reinstall the three Y springs? I noticed that you didn't, but you mentioned zip tie to keep them together?

That's what the Brocks clutch mod replaces, take the y springs out and zip tie them so if you want to install them again later they are in order.

I shot a full installation video for You Tube + we will have a printed quick start version.

We are now sourcing all of the parts from the appropriate vendors, otherwise it could get a little expensive and we don't want that

I was originally going to make the kit available with all of the shims, but after reviewing years of notes and runs from 2006 through our 2009 SuperSport Championship and Real Street records with Rickey Gadson. I can make the kit available as I set it up for Wheelie and it will work for 90% of all applications. That saves $ and adds flexibility and ease of use. The addtion of the shim kit can let the guys who like to really fine tune things go nuts.

Lee,

It shipped Friday. I'll get with you the beginning of the week about set-up. Wheelie had the same static pressure as our 2006-11 heavy duty spring kit we have sold for years. Of course, they have 5 springs and the 14R has 6, but I have adjusted for this.

You might not want as much? Or maybe you like a stiffer clutch/hit off of the line? You have full control with the deluxe kit on the way.

Very good Brock .
I don't like a real heavy clutch . In the past i just used 3 of your spacers and that worked great for me .. Others liked 5 , and still others liked HD springs and spacers all together .. I'm sure with your deluxe kit i will be able to dail in just what i like as far as feel ..
The factory set up feels a little to light on the hit ... But as you release it more off the bar it gets a mushy feel .. I think i must be feeling the slipper doing it's thing under hard load when it get that mushy feeling .. I realy can't say what the zx14R clutch feels like other than it feels strange , you know something is going on with the clutch but you can't put your finger on what it is .. I can say for sure when shifting with my air shifter the shifts are very soft , Wheelie felt it also when shifting .. Now with your clutch mod Wheelies bike hits hard and lifts the wheel on up shifts .. I have hit some good 60 footer with the stock set up but it's hit or miss deal , you realy never know what it going to do because the lack of feed back from the clutch lever .. This Clutch Mod kit should get me the consistency that i'm looking for and had with my old ZX14 clutches ..
I'll pop some pictures of the install and some of the clutch plates , i maybe have 25 to 30 passes on the bike and i really would like to see what they look like at this point as far as wear and heat marks ..
