quote: Ok to be corrected it was a $3500 job. And we were not asking for tons of overtime hours or facility lights running all day to cost alot, just 2 min. to open the door to put the bike inside. it was a 3.5 hr drive for us and would be another 4hrs to go back to carpenter just to drop the bike off. I understand when your closed your closed, we were just hoping he'd be more willing to work with us seeing we were 100% positive we were going to drop the bike off.
I understand what you were asking...I am sure the last 5 guys that asked the same thing never showed up. They were 100% too.
Two minutes to open the door would be a two hour slice out of my day......so I would have to assume that it would be the same for Carpenter.
Being that you are dropping the complete bike off, I would inspect the bike for any flaws in the bodywork, make notes on all aftermarket mods and have the customer sign-off on it before leaving. This helps to protect the business and is standard operating procedure.
You are disappointed that it didnt work on your schedule , that is fair. Do not bash the business and say you are not impressed. Carpenter is not your beck and call boy, he is your engine builder.

i don't know what you talking about .. i do all my own work .. i have no use for shops .. but you must be 1 those type that after a person pays for a part it sits for a week before shipping ..
You misunderstood me I was referring to your trouble with shippers from a previous thread with the flashback thing, the shop part was in response to the original thread starter. They weren't connected thoughts.

Funny how the money just went up to $3500. I believe you just paded this to make your situation seem more valuble. F*cking say what you mean(truth) and mean what you say(truth). No way anyone honest is off $2500(imo).
If this was a drop off then leave the bike in the parking lot like the rest of the public that is looking for a shop to work on their vehicle(outside of posted hours). What about some adult accountabilty and leave work early to get the bike there Monday-Friday?

+1.. As far as driving 35 miles each way to his shop, or PAYING one of his employees to come in and take your bike in the fact is that the business is closed and you have not said that you were offering to pay for this accommodation. Time is money, that's the bottom line. Personally when I make an employee come in Saturday, I pay them for half a day regardless. Also as stated before by someone else, the last 6 guys who asked for the same thing probably never showed up, or were not punctual. Are you a regular customer who has given him a bunch of business? If not then you don't deserve any special treatment. Do you have insurance? Leave it in the back like he suggested, there are probably cameras....

If it was me, I wouldn't leave my bike outside at a shop. I'm just weird like that. But I would have made arrangements to be at the shop when they were open.

Guess i was still not saying the "truth" about the price because I am not "adult" and just tried to add $2500 to the price to make my childish self seem more justified! I guess maybe i should have looked it up online to see what the actual price was, looks like i was still low on my price.

I kind of understand what he is saying. I know when Chris built my bike he worked with me through and through. He drove over 2 hours to meet me just to pick up my fairings. He will open up on Sunday to take a couple seconds to unload a bike as well. I always hear people in this industry bitching and crying about how the economy sucks and things are slow and I personally don't think it is or was to much to ask the guy to meet him at the shop. (its called customer service) I would not have come on here and posted about it but that is just me. Maybe he just could not do it on that particular Saturday? You guys all BLOW Brock when he goes above and beyond why can't someone else go above and beyond, is that to much to ask? Carpenter has a great reputation. I bet most people would have opened up for this I mean after all arent most shops hurting for business?

I hope Carpenter has been reading this forum and tells you & your buddy to go somewhere else, sounds like you are one of those people who are never happy... Funny thing is it's not even your bike. Good luck!
BTW There is a difference with Brock & others that go out of their way. They OFFER to do it, some people do & some don't. I guess Carpenter does not for whatever reason, I mean he only lives 35 miles from his shop as somene stated earlier.

I am sure that there is much more to the story but big deal that he lives 35 miles from his shop. So, if you were the owner you would not spend $10 on gas to get a potential $3500 job? Sounds like a no brainer to me. Maybe he should have sent a deposit that way Bob knew he was serious. Really? LMAO... after all he lives 35 miles away, you guys make it seem like he lives in Europe.

Chad-I understand your comments however you spent a lot of $$$ for your system!!! Ask if Chris would do the same effort for a $1000 pay off(sorry now $3500)?

pazx14rider- With all due respect, you flamed this company on a public, active, vibrant and influential forum. Do you think that you should've researched the truth before you post this thread? Funny how you mentioned childish, since I have minor son and I inform him that the power of the pin(typing) is more power full than words!!! People sometimes forget words but the power of the pin is forever.

But Brent and Chad, we both know Shannon and chris. You guys talked to them multiple times before anything was done.
We didn't call Friday afternoon and tell them I was going to be in the neighborhood, can I drop my bike off.
In that scenario, over half the guys wouldn't show. On bently and Leonidas' build, I think it's different.
If the shop did open up, kudos to him. But he doesn't live next door to his shop like some people.

pazx14rider just tell your buddy to take his Beemer to another shop, if this Carpenters shop is closed on saturday's so be it, and it is to much of an effort to try and assist a new client no problem maybe he is making to much money and his shop dont need your bussiness, trust me someone will assist.I also have my own bussines for the last 15 years,I am not saying the client is always correct but without the customer you dont make money end of story.
