Yup you were on the clutch a long time and late getting the throttle pinned ... Sounds like you can take some kill time out of the box also ..

I would like to offer this....
-shock needs adjusting(too soft, no compression and too much rebound) you move the like gets lower and springs back up
-ride height is too low for your weight at the current setting, slowing the bike down when it rubs your TT.
-Smokin hit the nail on the head with your clutch action, but you are still flying
Solution:
-purchase a drag shock or get yours revalved for your weight
-pratice.. you will hit your mark w/better shorts
-tuning.... need that Pc5 and get her tuned...
You will be in the 5:50 mark real soon... thanks for posting.... you are my inspiration.... can't purchase a bike, too far away to ride anything but a camel...

Thanks again
JT, my revalved shock in on the way to me as I post, should have it Monday or Tuesday, has a Booza spring on it. Next race I'm sure my 60's will improve, video is the next best thing for improvement next to doing it, PCV? not available yet.

^^all you did was point out everything wee has already said^^^ he's mentioned multiple times that he's waiting on his shock from litz, and he threw on an old shock.

5.74 will get 8.90's on a gen1... The new bike is going to have a way better back half. Especially if it is rubbing the tiger tail to the 330 ft. Wee, you should put dad on there and see what it does with a midget lol. I bet it runs 130 in the 1/8th with him on it.

quote:not a great day for racing but it didn't rain, 80% humidity and 55 degrees, track held up for a while, best I could do was a 5.74, best mph was 124, best 330 mph 96, bad news I weight 222 in street clothes hehe. Angus is running very lean, I stage at 8500 rpm, Angus didn't want to do 8000, I could tell from sputtering and the fan coming on from the staging lane to the starting line, didn't feel as strong going down the track as it did with the Muzzle, I wanted 5.60's on my first time out and failed,
It's been 8 months since I raced a long bike and my 60's show it, 1.43-1.44 was the norm, I catch myself hanging on to the clutch too long, gotta get low 1.30's. These are my baseline numbers, I guess that's not to bad for my first trip to the drag strip."I've got to have a PCV", Angus needs allot more fuel !!!
I will post some time slips after dinner. Thanks to Lucky and kawa74 for the help.

I said the Muzzle felt stronger than the CT , it did run 122-124 with the CT, 121-123 Muzzle, I'm pulling more chain now , different set ups, swb vs long + more weight now, so the CT must be making more power than the Muzzle

wee, I think there's probably a couple reasons why the bike didn't feel like it was pulling as hard on the other end, the first is with short wheelbase, You can't give the throttle in low gear, as in third gear you're wide open throttle. This feels a lot stronger on the other end, with the long swingarm your G. forces are probably doubling in low gear and leveling off the further you get down the track. #2 the motor is a big air pump the more air you move through it the faster it goes, but you have to add gas with that. If the muscle doesn't flow is much air it will make the motor richer, and here is the reason why ,the closer you get to the target of 12.9 AFR, the better the motor will run, I think you said the muscle was running13.2 And the Brocks is running at 13.5 AFR that shows the Brock's pipe is pumping more air needing more fuel. the power commander will fix this, it will also fix your ET, LOL

Nice riding Wheelie - I'm impressed. Most big guys like to throw out 'I'm too big' excuses as to why they can't go quick/fast; the plain truth is... I have only seen a handful who can actually RIDE. Well done.

Thanks Brock, any idea how much more hp gain I will get from 13.5 to 12.9?

Then why do you have a 85lb jockey riding your bikes if size don't matter ..

Wee you're doing really good at your weigh and Im sure sooner or later you will be flying! I think the pill is way too low though but thats just my .02!! I shift at 11k rpm on my bike and I know the new 14r has better top end than the old 14

correct, I have a 10,600 and a 11,000, I can't find a 10,800 but looking at dyno charts a 10,800 would be better since the 14r does not drop hp at high rpm, so the next shift will be in better power range, I'll get one somewhere and run it. That tail rub was pretty serious, it did it in 2nd gear too, that had to have "some" effect on time, Litz shock is on it now so that issue is gone

forgot to add that was my 1st trip to the track in 8 months on a long bike, have a baseline of 1.43 60ft to beat next time out, I know I can get 1.30's next week, wanting those very low 1.30's it just takes me a little time, I'm not a kid anymore I will be 54 in a couple of weeks.
