Black Angus @ Drag Strip 69" not a great day for racing but it didn't rain, 80% humidity and 55 degrees, track held up for a while, best I could do was a 5.74, best mph was 124, best 330 mph 96, bad news I weight 222 in street clothes hehe. Angus is running very lean, I stage at 8500 rpm, Angus didn't want to do 8000, I could tell from sputtering and the fan coming on from the staging lane to the starting line, didn't feel as strong going down the track as it did with the Muzzle, I wanted 5.60's on my first time out and failed,
It's been 8 months since I raced a long bike and my 60's show it, 1.43-1.44 was the norm, I catch myself hanging on to the clutch too long, gotta get low 1.30's. These are my baseline numbers, I guess that's not to bad for my first trip to the drag strip."I've got to have a PCV", Angus needs allot more fuel !!!
I will post some time slips after dinner. Thanks to Lucky and kawa74 for the help.

Way to keep plugging away at it Wheelie the numbers will come, just give it time I would have to say that a 5.74 1/8 is definately 8 something in the 1/4 and that is wothout anyway to tune at all. Nice work

I'm at 64 inches with 16/41 gears and weight under 150 now .. I would be very happy if i pulled off anything in the 5.70s my first time out next Weds night test and tune .. Wee and I both have been off bikes for over a half a year .. There is some rust that needs to be knocked off .. 5.74 @ 124 @ 222 pounds , 60 foots in the mid 1.40s is great in my book ..

I'm starting all over again, I tell myself to let go of that clutch and my body doesn't, funny how the mind and body works on instinct.

Wheelie how did the clutch feel ? Any problems with the slipper like the busa has ? Notice and difference in feel between the gen 1 and gen 2 clutch?
Thanks

the clutch is easy to use, no jerking at 8000 rpm from a dead stop, it does feel kinda soft, I hot lapped the first run and it needed to be leaned over on the starting line and pumped in oil, letting it cool it's good, but after the run you can feel it's a little squishy

I noticed mine got a little mushy feel after some hot laps ..But no other problems .. I feel some shims or a little stiffer springs will fix that problem .. If you had no problems at 8500 staging i should have no problem using my 5000 to 5500 staging ..

Everyone needs a reason for not going faster, weather, track prep, rusty, no tune, etc.
I think having the brakes on all the way through at least 1st and 2nd has to hurt! There's your "bad" 60 and 330 reason.
We knew the Tiger Tail was rubbing a little bit, but THIS???
This is the most important video I got all day.

oh yeah, I forgot to add, I only have a 10,600 chip in my MPS autoshift box, so it shifts a little early, should have a 10,800 in a day or two

I do believe that 5.74 would be a low 8.90 pass.
