He is done with the post, i know the bike will be running IN ALL MIR CRAZY 8s so come and see for yourself!

If he is going to be running faster than he did last year it will be a challenge to run Crazy 8's. I had a problem this year because I kept running too fast, it was hard for me to change shift points or whatever just to run the number.

Why? my bike runs 8.90's and I slow down to run the 9.50 class with no issues.

It was always an issue for me. It was always hard to tell because if you have been averaging between a 1.35 and 1.37 60' and then are off on a run and pull a 1.40 or something it was hard for me to tell enough. But like I said that is just me.

The 20 hp gain came from Busa2002, he spoke with one of the two..... I don't know, but 20 hp gain from porting, with no valves, cams or milling it crazy.... you can believe what you want 14 owners.... I have had two 14s, two 12Rs, a '98 zx9r, every gen zx10, a pair of zx7Rs and a couple of zx6s; been around racing for a while and I have never heard of gaining 20 hp with porting only..... Carpenter claims some good numbers but his combo is head/cams

Benlty as to your gain, it's different what you are doing, milling/porting 13 to 16 is not uncommon for the package you are getting (SS thru CNC, correct)?

Nope osr port job and milling 20 off, no cnc ss package

It's not that hard to slow down after you find the right shift point. After that, it's just like bracket racing, except if you have a bad 60ft it can be made up just by pushing one shift point a little higher.

No one is doubting the guys ability to ride or if the bike was an 8 sec bike prior to him getting the head ported. The discussion is about the 20 HP gain. Like I said earlier Busa2002 mentioned the 20 hp. Where did he get it from? That's been my argument the entire time.....

I guess busa2002 needs to pony up on the answer of who told him the gain was 20 hp

Yup exactly what I do, but if you can't tell how your 60 footing you will have a hard time adjusting. I can tell pretty close to what my 60 foot is when I leave. I took a bike that ran 9.20's and won 5 10.50 index races 2 years ago.

I had some family issues this summer and wasn't out at the track as much as I wanted to be, so I just didn't get enough seat time to be able to tell a I was off a couple of hundredths. This was my first year doing any racing at the track. I had high hopes for this year, but I go in for shoulder surgery on February 9th, so it depends on how I heal up from that I guess. At least while I am down I will send out my head for some work, so at least there is an upside.
