8.1 lbs....light indeed.
Shane:
1st off, feel better bro and when you do I'm sure the CT will find its way into the 14R. Should be real interesting to see where you/Seno/Wheelie end up once the PC is available to tune them. My guys (Leo Vince) have not release a pipe for the 14R yet, but hopefully by summer I will have both on the road.
Rest up and have at it,
Leo

Nope, I am just like the build quality, torque generation and how well it worked on my '07. Brock's is great stuff, I just prefer LV. CT would be my choice if there was no Leo Vince. For all you guys who race regularly...no question use Brock for the tuning maps, customer support etc.

Does/Is the LV more of a street exhaust set-up: more down low-mid power? I believe LV also doesn't require a PC to run correctly, yes? I love my Brocks on my '06, but I'm all about practical street riding and saving money and time these days. Sacrilege on this site, I know. Forgive me, kind folks...

LV pipes don't require a PC "tune", however for max power like any other pipe, you want to "tune" with a PC type fueling upgrade. For whatever reason, generally, LV's do generate strong torque, but are not per se, a "street" set-up as they build stuff primarily for the road race and off-road worlds.
The 14R pipe is not available yet, but what I had on my '07 is a similar design to the CT (i.e. step header and 4-2-1). All that said, LV is developing their own PC type device for use with their pipes so the future is changing. Don't want to hijack Shane's thread so I am done.

Any full exhaust will require a PC to run properly or get the most out of it.

Thanks for the info. No intention to hijack the thread. We're just yappin' here...I'm still leaning hard to Brock's CT. Just too nice! I'm trying to keep up w/the rapidly evolving offerings on the new bike, though. I wanna' make the right choice. I'll be around.
Thanks, again.

Well, I took it for another spin today. I'm not feeling too great, and the temps were pretty cold...but I got in another 33 miles, bringing it to almost 75 miles.

I am trying to get some miles on the clock before it goes on the dyno. I still have the factory oil in it. I guess that will be fine for one or two dyno pulls? Then I am switching to the <<0 wt Alisyn and Petron:

I need to verify that the oil filters are the same as the Gen1...
I am not expecting any huge numbers on my local dyno. This dyno is a real dream crusher! Here is what my 2011 Hayabusa made, with 700 miles on the clock:

Anyway, hopefully everything comes together tomorrow, and I'm able to get some testing in. If not, at least I have a plan!

A few other notes. I have verified that these parts are the same on the new 14R, as the Gen 1:
Oil filter (thanks Wee!)
Exhaust Gaskets
Fuel Pump (same as '08+)
The biggest surprise is the fuel pump, imo. But that makes life a lot easier if you have spares already.

I just thought of something funny...
Someone asked me about the 14R the other day, as to how good/fast it was. I told them it was "The Billy Baroo"....it just dawned on me that they probably had no idea of what I was talking about!! Of course, if you remember the movie "Caddyshack", then you know...

I Think the Kawasaki Dyno Result is on the KAWASAKI title you get from the dealer.
Mine says 197HP right on the title.

197 HP...Kawasaki is clearly understating the HP of the 14R. the 06-07 version listed 190HP, and the 08-11 version listed 193 HP. This is typically crankshaft HP, with 10% friction losses to get you the rear-wheel HP. Your "Certificate of Origin" should state approximately 220 HP to be in synch with past bikes. It seems manufactures are hesitant to claim that their bike breaks the 200 HP barrier...yet the 14R blasts past this barrier in Crank Horsepower!!

Or is this a move to be more accurate and representative in manufacturer's numbers, like the true wet weight numbers you tend to see from most these days?

Too late, Todd. I already have a whopping 135 miles on it and maybe 15 dyno pulls.
