Welcome ....No problems ..Just ride the wheels off it and have fun .. The motor doesn't over heat BUT it does put off a lot of heat on your legs ..Move your legs away from the tank helps greatly .. A 4 into 1 exhaust helps with the heat on your feet and legs ..

eltigre , be aware that the brakes on a 14 are very efficient ! A guy from here traded his 1250 V-rod , that he raced frequently , for a new 14 so he could be a little faster , aaaaand , he got 300 miles on it , and passed a few of his buds , (very convincingly) aaaand grabbed a handful of brakes like he was used to doing on his V- rod ! Totaled the new 14 , and he spent 6weeks in the Hospital !!! Just a heads up !!!! Welcome

yes tnt ive been doin a little research online and i believe the brakes are extreemly efficient...do they have a pad for every piston or is that just the newer models?ill let ye all know how the testdrive goes tomorrow unless the guy backs out of the deal [that happened to me when i was trading my triumph for a kz100 elr....somehow the guy found out what he had,....lol..]...tnx mike

Don't over think it. I owned a vrod for years...and my ZX -14 during the same time. If you have any common sense, you'll be fine. If you don't, then sell the 14 immediately.

+1 to CraZX14's comments.

You are buying, lighter, more power, better brakes and in near stock form..deceptive speed because it doesn't really...feel fast (soft low end power), yet can easily zip up to major speed despite feeling...slow doing it.
