So which one is this???
Rickey has 2 different quotes:
1. " Had a surprise visitor at the racetrack yesterday and learned some invaluable info by dynoing several new 14R's and a 09 ZX14..and BOY OH BOY, the gap between the 14 and 14R is like the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen Busa!!!"
2. "I rolled into the track yesterday and this was a pleasant surprise! I'll tell you what.....OH BOY.......the hp difference between the Busa and the 14R is like the difference between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Busa."
Regardless of the raw numbers, the 14R makes 15 HP more than *someting* and the area under the curve says even more than the peak.

Looking at the way the green line pulls to the limiter compared to the red line falling away,
Isn't that what you'd expect from a piped and tuned bike vs a stock one?
Rickey. Why are the Red run details cut off the top? Why no numbers?
If you can't give the details we want at least explain what we are getting!

That looks to me like 196hp and 116lb/ft. The original stock bike that was dynoed at 191 showed the same strong power til redline, with no past-peak drop off. Seems they're getting good results from the stock pipes.
Presumably, this means there will be less gain from fitting an aftermarket exhaust as the stock system is already pretty good.
I'm guessing there's a good reason the figures have been obscured. The dyno sheet is there to show us the improvement over either a 1 gen or a 2 gen Busa (which are the same give or take anyway). Tells us what we need to know.
Cheers Rickey.

I am interested in what the 2nd pull was from, as that shows around 178 hp SAE, which would be very strong for any other stock bike. Either way, if the bike makes even 185 SAE on a stingy dyno, it is very strong

Actually 178 for a stock gen 1 around my area is pretty close but every dyno's different. Just like my buddys busa which dynos 203 here on stock motor pump gas.

guys remember the media is there doing their initial testing.
As with anything, Kawi want's the mags to post their numbers.... Be patient.... the numbers will come out.... we already now the bike will pull roughly 192 in preproduction form....
I am not surprise if Wheelie's bike wont' pull over 215 rwhp.... tuned/pump fuel

Well that's just it 215 hp is worth nothing, cause wee's bike here on the dyno we use would show 225 -230 if a gen 2 busa shows 203. mph is what everyone needs to focus on. rickeys mph of 151 shows hp with stock exhaust and swb

IMHO, nowhere close to that TODAY.
1. It is not even close to being broken in and making peak power.
2. It is not tuned - no way to do that yet.
3. We have several dynos in DFW, but no "happy" ones that I know of.
Wheelie's piped and tuned 06 made only 174.
My 08 bone stock made only 165, so there's your base line.
If the 14R makes 15 HP more and 5 HP for the pipe, no tune, then anything over 185 SAE today would be GREAT!

Bently,
So, did Wee's bike hit 225-230, or is this a guestimation? Never seen a bike hit between numbers.
I really haven't heard of any Gen2 busa hitting 200 nothing with at pipe, no fuel mgnt and on pump fuel.....
Not trouble shooting, just wanting to know the results.

Bently was just pointing out how silly numbers can get out of hand on happy dynos and trying to compare bikes dynoed under entirely different conditions.
Lucky is being realistic about what to expect on a dyno they know.
230hp?..............really?

No I was saying on the dyno I have access to a new 14 would make somewhere between that as it reads 203 with a gen 2 busa which is high as hell.

I agree, Dyno numbers vary greatly, my 06 piped made 171 on one dyno in town, took it across town and it made 185... That's why I really want to see it back to back with either a gen 1 zx14 or a gen 2 busa

The dyno really doesn't matter. I really don't care if the numbers are inflated as long as we can relate it to a current bike, gen 1 or gen 2 busa. I am just looking for the ratio to help determine the power differences.
