According to what Brock said in the Video that was the first 8 sec stock motorcycle with bolt on parts....4 years ago this month. 8.99 @ 155MPH. The same bike that is sitting in his shop right now.

That it looks like the 2 bikes are pretty equal with the same mods. at least that's what the times show.

Richard weighs about 40lbs less than Rickey.... add 40 lbs to the busa or subtract 40lbs from the zx.... still think they are equal?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Busa had a lot of developement and setup before running that time.
Rickey (a heavier rider) did it first time out with parts cobbled together on the day.
Once Brock and RG have had a bit of time with this bike I'm sure the difference will be more obvious

Developement? They bolted parts on it and tuned it on a dyno. same as the 14R. Just saying that both bikes properly tuned look like they are running about the same times.

I think the difference is that the Busa was a production bike that saw time on/in Brock's own dyno/shop to develop...along with many track days.
Give the 14R the same rider and luxuries, and let's see what happens...

Richard Gadson just posted this on Psychobike...
What separates the good riders and the men from the boys in drag racing. It is the ATTENTION TO DETAIL!! and I'm starting to realize a lot of people on this site don't pay attention AT ALL!! you guys have to look at the WHOLE PICTURE!! don't let ur pride or love for a brand just make you blind. The whole picture is that thy 8.99 on the new 14 was done by my uncle. He is 170 lbs unsuited!!!! I weigh 140-145, teasley weighs 125. Since when does that NOT get taken into consideration?? I GUARANTEE I will go 8.80's, MAYBE 70's on a stock 2012 zx14. Bet that!! Any non believers are more than welcome to bet!!
The 14 that RG went 8.99 on is a pre production model that kawi gave to roaring toyz to customize. Unil the day before, it had a single sided arm and 240 rear wheel. When he went 8.99 it still had a custom front wheel on it that barely spins and it's heavy. Imagine when we do all the "tricks" to this bike that were sone to all the other bikes u guys mentioned in this topic. Like getting the wheel all the way to the back of the arm, non o ring chain, lowering the bike as low as possible, clutch mod, etc!!
And lastly, I wish people would stop with this 10 second busa stuff!! We all know busas go faster than 10 seconds. It was in Vegas!! Any of u guys ever raced there?? It was 3000 feet. Any of u guys ever rode a stock height busa with stock clutch?? Let me know how fast u go! It wasn't a good pass on that video, simple as that. Don't be unreasonable.
Just sit back and watch

OK. I hope it does. I love it every spring when all the newbies bring out the latest and greatest bikes with the bolt on swingarms, slip on Exhaust and the dry nitrous kits. They show up at the track a few times for test and tune, Lately it's just been 1K's everywhere you look. It's time for some big bikes to get back out there.
