T body question

I see the injector there and I know that sprays fuel. Can anyone tell me what the other holes are to the left and right of the injector? There are 3 hole like that in each bore.

Look like manifold vacuum sources one at least is for sync purposes.

Thanks kaw now. Sounds like a good possibility. The holes go into the bore at an angle. Looks like they travel some distance through the wall. I will have to have a closer look at them but if at least one seems like it is headed to a sync nipple, that is enough explanation for me.

Follow the 3 air holes. See the one hole you can't see in the photo?; it is used for the sync setting. That is that bottom rubber plug you see on the outside. Follow the 2nd hole without the screw tower behind it; That is where the 4 hoses tie into the IAP (intake air pressure) sensor. That 3rd hole is the one with the air screw tower behind it. Adjust your air screws when sync needs servicing. Read the FSM for the sync procedure.

Thanks for the explanations, speedgene. I'll be looking at those.

Honed? That is polished, I am sure. I wouldn't have a clue where to bring them for something like that. You just go to a machine shop and say "hone my bores?" They might look at you kind of funny, you know?

The plates would need to be removed wouldn't they? And how about the shafts? Do they just hone around them?

ahhhahahaha-- now we are talking. Think I will wait to see what kind of TB the new 14 has. I may spend the extra doe to keep up with the times. I was just reading a little about bored T bodies last night. Seems like that will gain gain you a few ponies and ~1.5 torque?

Lots of money for a fairly modest gain but after basic mods, you have to start going for the smaller gains and considering the cash it will cost-----or else go to boost. I was thinking Nitrus. That will def give me more than a few extra hp and I won't need to spend the gas $$$$ to run it all the time like a bigger motor or T bodies. Nothing against the idea of bigger just seems the expensive rout to take.

If they do leave as fast as you can lol.

By def is, a precision tool with a mechanically rotated abrasive tip, for enlarging holes to precise dimensions.

In most cases I let the machinist tell me what is the best he can he do with the material I have provided. But,,,,, that call will always be up to you. 47mm sounds sweet.

I see some guys going big and thin here. Best bet is to let the man doing the work decide how far he dares to go based on his talent level.

Every little bit adds up, how can you resist ? Not always 500.
