Rg & Brock
Rg & Brock,
I had a discussion yesterday, and we have decided (me, myself & I) that we want to see the following at the MFG Cup in November.
-A collective set of stock wheel base passes: (Rg in the saddle)
-stock runs (2)
-stock/lowered
-piped/lowered (2)
-piped/tuned/lowered (2)
-piped/tuned/lowered/geared (3)
Note: ( Preferably on the same day if possible)
I know you will be busy during the races, however I feel this will squash all naysayers and resolve any comments on the validity of the new 2012 ZX14's power plant.

Why not they came with BMW's in a glass trailer with diamond plated floors

only need 2 bikes.
one with stock piped, and one with a Brock pipe and lowered.
lower the stock pipe bike not hard because it could have adjustable links (set at stock height) and the strap (loose) already installed. 5-10 minutes to lower.
piped bike can have PCV or Bazzaz (with map) routed and unhooked, and predetermined sprockets ready.
10 minutes to bazzaz , 10 minutes to change sprockets.
Because the bikes will probably be hot lapped there will be time to make changes.
Rickey probably has a stock bike, he could probably get some links
Now if Brock somehow got a bike, I'll bet he would find a pipe, links, sprockets and a tune.
It could be done very easily, now the real questions is it worth it and to whom!

This bike will need a longer swingarm to see what it will really do.

I talked to Rickey a few days ago about the delivery of the production bikes and testing them.
He doesn't have one right now. No one does.
There are just the few bikes that were at the dealer meeting and then one Rickey rode in Vegas. The bike Rickey rode in Vegas is the ONLY one that has a running engine in it and its not a production bike. Kawi has that bike still.
Dont worry, once production starts and they get some bikes here in the USA then Rickey will get one and fully test it.
He said he is pushing hard to have a production bike at Valdosta !!!
I dont know if he will be able to do ALL the different tests you are talking about, but you will get a good idea as to how this thing runs.
We already discussed some testing and what mods we may do to it.
What many people dont know is Competition CNC sponsors Rickey, we do heads and build engines for his race program and we will surly get our hands on it ASAP.
We build his MiRock Series Real Street nitrous engines and did the head on the 2011 zx10 that he and his nephew Richard shattered the 1000cc Land speed records with this summer at Loring Maine. Rickey also won the 09 AMA Supersport championship with an SS head.
We are planning on doing a Super Sport head for the 2012 zx14.... as well as the 47mm bored throttle bodies like we offer for the 06-11 gen 1 engines.
The 06-11 zx14 with our SS head and 47mm throttle bodies put down 210 rwhp on Brocks dyno and other dynos. The 2012 zx14 still has 44 mm tb's so I fully expect to make 220-225 RWHP with stock cams and pistons and our SS head, 47mm throttle bodies and a pipe.
Black Ice is 100% right, this bike is gonna need a longer WB and then its gonna fly !!!

thanks Jim for that reply, one thing I would like to know as soon as you get a head, will the new exhaust cam fit the old head. And I'm sure a lot of people would like to know that.
Thanks Ken

cool so the 9.7 something in Vegas doesn't count, I hope the real production 14r will be the fastest bike on the planet beating the BMW like we were told.

I wonder how much extra gear the 14R will like with all that extra torque?

COMPTON,
That was very funnny....... I had to laugh at that myself... I don't think I am asking too much.
If he is supplied with a bike and it produces phenomenal SWB numbers.... you can speculate what the it will do with more wheel base....
Extended WB isn't important to me right now... I plan to run mine SWB

It would be nice if it fits. Hopefully the new chain and sprockets fit as well!! But with a deck height change i doubt it.

I'm trying to get Kawi to get me one by Valdosta, but I really don't plan on trying to do all these mods by then. I have a racebike to get ready and to race that weekend, so it aint gonna be worth the trouble.
I will run it slammed/STOCK with 1 less tooth on the rear and STOCK pipes. Everyone will get a good idea how fast it will go then......

Rg,
Removing one from the rear, would calm the bike down at stock height, how do you think it will perform lowered/strapped? I am guessing you want to remove some Tq in the mid range?

If I have a bike coming.... it would be news to me.
Last year, they wouldn't even let Teach McNeil down the track to let people know the stunt show was going to start (no time) and BMW paid a FORTUNE to get him there and on advertising for the event.
Hopeflly, RG can have a bike by then. I sure would like to have our newly designed Alien Head 2 system on one (we are making it now) but it will be a long shot.
