Kawasaki Spain says 200 CV as well (210 CV with ram air), they cannot be so stupid to lie, if the bike produces more power they would say it.

The bike was rated at 210 hp which is slightly low. 197 to the tire is believable. My 08 14 made around 173 box stock in houston humidity. I can't wait to see what this bike makes.

I was looking at the Kawasaki.eu website (www.kawasaki.eu) and they are showing some pretty impressive torque numbers
HP:
Ram Air Assist: 154.5 kW {210 PS} / 10,000 rpm
No Ram Air: 147.2 kW {200 PS} / 10,000 rpm
Torque:
162.5 Nm {16.6 kgf•m} / 7,500 rpm
Im excited to see what can come from this motor as a base platform to build from!.!.!

quote: I think its really crazy that guys on this ZX14 site are doubters like they are. There is no way you guys believe that the new 14 makes the same hp as last years bike which is stated to be 197 ram air assisted hp at the crank.
everybody believe when these euro mags showed pics and posted several stories about the new bike being a 1500 with a Supercharger!! They even showed pics and had quotes from Kawi execs stating it would be easier to put a supercharger on the new bike than to re-tool!
Its funny how fast we forget that these over sees info facts, rarely materialize here in the states.
Im going to announce this for everyone to hear.............THE NEW BIKE HAS A CLAIMED 210HP to the crank, and again I am stating that I BELIEVE that this NUMBER IS understated! I have the most experience of any civilian on the planet at twisting the throttle on the 2012 and it feels like 20 to 25hp more than last years 14 and will run .3 tenths faster and 5 mph in 1/4 mile at stock height and stock exhaust......
Is that enough 14 fans??
With all the time you have spent with this bike you did not have it on the Dyno ?????
More than likely kawi won't allow Ricky or anyone else to post dyno numbers till the bikes are being sold to the public. When the new 10 was first introduced, Bikeland broke the news that the bike would be restricted for north america, and nobody believed them, then a dealer in canada posted dyno numbers off a pre-release 2011 gen4 test bike which showed it made the same power as the earlier version 2010 gen3. Of course kawi contacted the shop and made them pull the info off the net immediately. And the 10R forum mysteriously pulled the thread as well lol. Plus Fish and Bikeland took some serious heat as well from kawi...I'm suprised he's as open-minded as he is about the new 14 considering...shows how great Bikeland really is I think Ricky is doing the best he can right now to let us know what the new bikes capable of

When the 1st gen came out, wasn't the European hp numbers different from the US? I thought our bikes had a little more, but could be wrong.

during the time i spent on the bike, it was only for photoshoots and videos for the release.
there was only one bike that was a runner and betwen the video crew and the static photo crew, the bike has been busy since it arrived.
There is still only 1 running bike in the country, which is not in my possession, so I have no control over dyno'ing the bike.
Trust me when you guys see the hp it makes you will be blown away, Kawi just dynoed it against last years bike and the Busa, but its up to them if they release it to the public.I would think that they wouldnt be able to keep a number like this quiet, but they have their reasons!

Rickey, what reasons could they have to not make those numbers public if the bike delivers the goods and not seeing those numbers is the ONLY thing holding some people back from buying one............I just dont see what the downside is thats holding them back from putting that information out there................and please dont say regulation.........those IDIOTS in Congress cant even agree on raising the debt to pay our bills and pay our soldiers and senior citizens does ANYONE honestly think they will agree on MORE regulations to regulate motorcycles if they cant even agree on no brainer things like paying our soldiers and senior citizens Social Security.
Rickey if you cant say specific numberrs can you describe the character of the power...........ie lowend about the same, more midrange, stronger topend rush with 1000rpm and makes power to the limiter etc..............also do you think it will be alot harder to 60 this bike if its not stretched ALOT?

Obviously Ricky G is not at liberty to comment on the HP Numbers, he has a career & sponsorship at stake... I do not know Ricky personally but everything I have ever read about him points out that he is a stand up guy with integrity. Thank you for sharing what you have so far. I would like to see an independent shop show Dyno numbers, but who really cares as long as it is king again? Give it a month and there will be 500 different Dyno sheets posted(and hopefully a bunch of pissed off Busa owners), 1000's of pipes, maps, and bolt on's available. We all want to see the numbers but unfortunately Kawasaki with all of their wisdom is closed lipped for a reason, personally IMHO it's a mistake.... They would probably sell more pre-orders with the numbers posted (especially if they were extra impressive).

Gadson claimed it is the quickest but all I hear are comparisons to the busa, not the current quickest and fastest bike the s1000rr. It consistantly traps over 150mph stock.

Uhh the S1000R might MPH high but no way is it the quickest..............race a bone stock showroom S1000rr against a bone stock showroom Zx14R.............and we'll see which is quicker.............my bet will be the Zx 14R!!!!

Sportrider got it to do 9.5 sec in the quarter. They also state in numerous articles that it is the quickest production bike on earth. I'm not saying the new 14r won't be quicker. My point is that if Kawi is going to boldly claim the new 14 is the quickest production bike, they should compare it to the current quickest not the current second quickest.

From what I've seen, the current 14 is a match at the dragstrip for any bike off of the floor with light mods, in 99% of the cases.
There are no doubt some riders who can get "bike x" to go a little quicker, but the vast majority of us are not one of those riders.
More important than peak dyno numbers, to me, is how hard is the bike to ride? A very rideable bike can make the average rider shine, and the opposite is also true. Ridability is a strong suite of the current 14, and I hope that has not changed.

I agree with you 100%. Thats why I bought a zx14.
The BMW is the quickest and fastest overall, even if only when ridden by a pro.
However the 14 and the busa are much more usable. And I agree that normal people like my self will be faster at the strip on a 14 than an s1000rr.

Motorcyclist Mag took a 2006 ZX-14 and ran 9.76 @144 The 2006 ZX-10 did 9.76 @149.
You can check those numbers on Motorcylist site Hard Numbers.
