2009 "stock" VMAX The U.S. website doesn't have numbers but they do in Europe, 197 horsepower at 9000 rpm, 123 foot pounds at 6500 rpm.

Thats not encouraging that the new ZX14R allegedly puts out the same horsepower as a "stock: VMAX...............where's the VMAX troll Now

I hope that article is wrong becuase the 1352cc motor put out 187hp and thats only a 10hp increase. By way of comparison, my bike put down 190hp to the tire with exhuast and the head shaved 0.40.

I would think a stroker motor with a better head and hotter cams would put down at least what mine did with stock exhuast...

I would expect it to dyno higher too.............in this economy if it doesnt put out 20 more horsepower and a ton more torque I cant see it selling very well for that price.

Here is what direct path//

2012 zz14 (200.14 hp and 120 tq)
http://www.kawasaki.eu/product.asp?Id=3409DE5D22D&S=6549116

2012 zx10 (200 crank hp and 83 tq)
http://www.kawasaki.eu/product.asp?Id=3409FD9722D&S=6549116

According to Kawi EU, the differences is in the tq. So, with both bike equal on HP.... do I really want to purchase the new bike?.... I wonder will the US model be netured and require an ECU mod? ... Food for thought

not hating but i've never seen a showroom stock zx14 put down 187hp ..most gen 1 put around 167hp showroom stock .... so if the new bike is putting 197hp down showroom stock .. thats about 30hp more than a 06.. but thats still not worth 15k+TTL

Piped 14's only put down 175hp on the dyno we used to own. Stock they were at 164 ish. People are already bitching about a bike that is suppose to put out 197hp, show room stock?

Even if the peak isn't much more off the floor, I'm ok with that. The 14 didn't make much more hp than the 12R at peak, but it walloped the hell out of it on the dragstrip.

You're OK with 0.1 hp less than the ZX-10R and hauling 150 pounds more than the 10?
____________
You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

The ZX10 and 14 aren't even in the same class. The extra TQ of that 1441 is whats going to put a smile on everyones face.

"Witness the Phenomenon"?

Erm....NO!

That is not good enough with those numbers!

p.s. although both bikes being on 200ps in Europe sounds a bit fishy. Is it neutered for the politically correct? We'll see when they get the crap off of it.

+1. U guys that r cryin bout tha hp #'s r crazy. Torque is what this new bike is gonna b about. I am speakin from experience, i have a stroker in my 06 and my hp #'s were low but tha torque # was high and wat my bike does against other bikes 2 include built 1000's that weigh much less is crazy. Hate tha hp output on this bike all u want but n tha end tha bike will speak 4 itself! A 4 mil stroke is no joke!

I think they gotta be fudging the numbers or these sources are all wrong. Going to a 1441, but you all saw what happened when kaw went from 1199 to 1352 as far as dyno #s go...
