I feel my 2010 back to stock with 2020 miles on it would be hard to get 7500.00, I don't think a nice clean 2006 would be worth more then 5000.00.

I think it all comes down to demand and supply... We have to see how the sales will be on zx14r. A lot of people might not be able to afford 15k bike so.if they are looking for zx14 have to go with used one.. that might actually help the resale value.

I would like to think my 06 with only 31K on it a pipe and a few scratches is worth well more to me than what most might be willing to pay me. That said it doesn't use scarcely a drop of oil runs perfect really It's got a lot of beatings left in it. I actually can't believe how well these things hold up considering even though I don't drag race it I flog it to redline every time I go for a ride.

I think its to early to tell
My 2007 SE was 10400 OTD (back in 07). The new 14R is really nice..but @15k? You can figure the 06-11 14's resale is approx 5-8k depending on mods, mileage, condition etc. Thats less than half of a new one. I believe that justifies a steady hold on resale value of the older gen. ZX14's

By end of next riding season they will be giving them away like current zx14's, especially up here in Ontario, they are brutal to get insured. Great bike but around $3000 a year fully insured up here. Dealers have lots of old stock they can't give away and nobody wants them on a trade in unless you want $3200 for your bike in mint condition. I know been throught it all.

I think with the higher price (and weight) of the new bike it will only make the older 14s hold value at least. The dealer was offering me 6500 three weeks ago when I was looking at the 10R for my 06 with 16000 on it.

My buddy just received $6100 trade value for his 2007 ZX14 with slip-on exhaust, SS brake lines, new front rotors, PC3 and 21K miles on it. It wasn't for a new 14 but rather an Aprilia RSV4. The dealer is now trying to sell the 14 for $7150...just an FYI.

dealers can play game with you.. they give you more for your trade and make you happy and make up for it on the price of the new bike and on top of that still can sell the trade and make some profit. as along as your friend happy..that's all matters.

Bikes just aren't as affordable as they used to be for alot of folks. I think that if anything the value of clean low mileage used 14's will be going up slightly. Especially when the old bike is still ridiculously fast, and has more power than most folks are ever going to use. And when you have clean, low mileage used 14's with add-ons in the showroom for half the price or less of new, it could be pretty tempting to the average buyer considering the current economics......

I bought my new 2010 one year ago and paid $10,500. Another soldier here got his 2010 right before we came back from Iraq (that has a significant impact on bike sales around a military base) for 10,000. That is over $3,000 off what the MSRP is. I can't see the 2012 going for that much off MSRP for a long time. The price of used cars (would it not be logical to assume bikes would follow a similar pattern?) always takes a hit when the redesigned model comes out. Its not just the added power. There are 6 years of identical bikes (except color schemes) and this one is totally different. There is no question what year the ZX14R is. AND, the vast majority of riders can't handle NEAR the power that ANY ZX14 has.

I got $7500 for mine with some goodies still on it, but regardless I would have bought the new bike anyway. You only live once so enjoy it, we can all make more money down the road. I did take off the GPR damper, Scorpio alarm, Muzzy sliders, Rizzoma fluid canisters & Pazzo levers.... Rest of it is for the dude that buys it. New one cost me $7500 with 4 year warranty out the door (selling price was like $13,200).

Glad i sold mine before the info on the 14 came out I didn't really sell mine , i traded it for a race car .. I sold the race car for a ton of cash and i used that money to buy the bike ..
I do think this new 14 will hold it price very well .. I'm not sure you will be buying a used 2012 for cheap like you can the Gen 1 ZX14 .. Look at how the new Vmax holds it price, i think you will see the new 14 do pretty much the same thing .. Only thing that might change that is if Zooky comes out with a new killer Busa ..
