The changes occured because of one bike.... 2006 zx14; now Kawi realized that a new player is in the game (BMW), so they made a change to their liter bike and both S1krr and the zx10 will out run an 06 - 11 zx14 & 08-11 busa (comprably equipeted w/ a pipe/gearing/pc). Kawi is doing nothing more than what they have done in the past as with the zx11 & zx9r, zx9r and the zx12, zx12 & zx14..... No major changes were made for the zx14 in 6 yrs..... and this bike will still run with the new version busa...

Where have you been the past few years? Wherever it was, you can go back with all that ignorant talk. What your saying doesn't make sense, nor is it close to being facts.
You take these bikes to the track and you will learn more there about performance than you will ever learn in the Japanese car business.
claimed hp.. hmm.. it is all claimed not real.. put the 2nd gen busa on dyno and you won't be any close to 178.
... and i think you have not been fair to 1st gen busa ... only 151 claimed? that means in reality 145 hp. i thought they claimed 163.00 and in reality 158.00
the last few years i have been riding my 08 busa, zx12r and now zx14. ignorant talk... looks like you got all the facts,, have you ridden both busas, like to give me your facts. i am not talking modified bikes you take on the track, i am talking bone stock from factory, assumed 161 hp for gen1 and 178 for gen 2, that is a 17 more horsepower difference, and the result difference on performance very little .
i have done it many times bro..

Busa08, i'm not sure what your point is.
Are you saying that this is just a sales gimmick type thing introducing a revised bike and the performance of it will be just a little better than the old bike?
What do the japanese car companies do that relates to what kawi is doing releasing a new bike?
I'm not sure im following you here.

I've ridden a gen 1 and gen 2 busa. On the street and at the track.
The gen 2's are noticeably faster/quicker/more powerful then the gen 1s.
Lookin forward to the release tomorrow! I'll be checking in at lunch

wrong.. i have been riding since i was 8 years old and i am 54 years old.. all my bikes have been japanese bikes from honda to yamaha to suzuki and kawasaki.. so as you can tell i am not loyal to one type of manufacture..
compare to old bike all the hype about the new busa was somehow disappointing and same as zx14 vs zx12r.
i just hope the new bike will WOW us!

Wow, I was going to post a reply but I can't pick just one thing to bash you on, so never mind.
I am excited about this new bike, I know the track where Rickey tested it and I know those numbers are impressive for that track. I will definitely check in tomorrow after I get finished with morning colors!

yes it was and that is why the busa made such magnificent impact on history of sport bikes in 1999... and i just hope the new zx14r does the same thing.

Don't think the 14 is even a little dissapointing Busa08 you are talking like it's a KZ900 with a new paint job or something what an idiot. Make something better more reliable yourself or buy a Harley.
