. And yes, I do some mods to increase oil volume/pressure in some areas. Thanks, Chris Jones.

Chris are these mods inhouse or can you tell us about them ??

Not much turbo 14 experiance down here in Aus to draw from

But i do have a lot of Suzuki experiance and would fully back Chris's comments about the tuner, just about everything you experiance as a turbo bike owner will stem from this point
be sure you get the right guy with experiance doing it (reread from the start and Rick has a good reputation )

The most important part of the oil system mods is done internally in the engine cases. For those mods I do some tig welding in the transmission oil supply valley to increase pressure. You could use a good industrial expoxy and get the same results. If you want further details on this mod in particular give me a call and I will elaborate the details. The oil pump on the zx14 has some leakage issues and does not seal perfect. That being said, I build a thick billet plate to replace the thin cast oem cover. This is the same thing that Muzzy offers. That oil pump would be a lot nicer with an o-ring design like that of the busa. In my turbocharged applications I use a remote oil filter relocater that uses -10 oil lines for the send/return oil lines. This increases volumne drastically. I have tested these mods since 2006. If you notice in most photos, all of my bikes have a oil gauge hung from the right side of the oil valley. This is so I can monitor the bikes during the burn out, and on the dyno. That little gauge has saved me some serious money/work. One time we were racing in Texas, and when we fired the bike, it barely showed any pressure. Pulled the oil pan and the pick-up was filled up with clutch fiber material. Cleaned the pick-up and went on to win that race. I have lost only one zx14 motor due to rod/bearing failure. And that one failed when Victor Gotay flipped a bike at mid track around 150 mph. He did not have the kill switch attached and the bike slid down track and remained running on its side for 4-5 minutes with the clutch case cover busted. BTW, he was fine a few days later. But I have seen my share of hurt zx14's,gsxr's, busas; and it is typically due to oil supply problems. Generally caused by clutch fiber material from bikes that are drag raced or street abused. Im not a big fan of the thin oils either. I typically use 20w50, 15w50, or 15w40. There are alot of good oils on the market for motorcycles, but be careful using automotive oils nowdays in a bike. The oil companies have pulled Zinc from all of the Automotive oils. Zinc is a critical chemical for prodiding sheer strength/pressure protection. This is very important in shim under the bucket motors, and solid lifter cam application. Lucas offers a Zinc additive along with racing oils that are high in Zinc. But you will be safe as long as you use a quality motorcycle oil such as Lucas, Motul, or Amsoil. And yes, Rotella(15w50) is a cheap great alternative. The diesel oils still have good chemical properties that will work fine in a bike. I know of alot of guys with some extremely high dollar motors that use Rotella without any issue. I have no problem answing questions, feel free to contact me via facebook, or email at chrisjones352@bellsouth.net Thanks, Chris Jones.
