blew the bike up today
well blew the 14 up today. made my best hp run ever today. decided to cut the gas on and give it a try. changed my rear sprocket, switched maps, heated my bottle and headed to the line. staged and launched as usual, felt like a good pass, got out the grove, spun the tire and that was it, heard it on the return road and shut it down. been saying i wanted to go in it, guess now i have a reason, lol

What better reason to go in it and replace parts with stronger and lighter parts? Now you can do a big bore kit, do a valve job, and use a thinner head gasket...oh and dnt forget to put the velocity stacks in too!

yea, i was wanting to go to dun benson next week, and the rock on the 15th. maybe it spit a shim. i really dont know what happened yet? going to pull the pan tomorrow, that should let me know how long i will be down. i went a 5.50@126mph on hp. with a 1.26 60ft.

its going to depend on what happened. if the crank is hurt like im thinking, then i will have it fixed and lightened, do a 2 mill and get with jim for a head and cam package with some 47tbs

well pulled the motor tonight. didnt appear to hurt the crank. no shavings in the pan, none of the rods look like they have been hot. so im pretty sure the bottom end is ok. but im going to put a set of rods in it while i have it out. the bike kicked 2 shims. one of the valves touched the piston. again doesn't look like the piston or valve is hurt. but again im going to put a set of pistons in it while im down. now just have to decide if i want to 2mill it or not. im thinking i may end up with a 2 mill with rods, and maybe a cnc stage 2 head with cams, looks like my year is pretty much done. im going to take my time and not get in a hurry.

2 mil with rods and the head/cams will be a BADASS build. Especially as quick as you're already going.

Quick 6,Glad it didn't mess up your crank. If you decide to come out to Dunn Benson look me up. I should be easy to find, all black zx14 with a VA tag on it. Will probably bracket race my zx12.

yea, im pretty sure it is, looked ok to the eye, but if it hit hard enough to mark the piston im sure its bent. i wouldnt take a chance on it. thanks for the cases today, soon as they get here im sending it out for a 2 mill.

no worries rich. i will get her back together. i could have replaced the valve and piston and been back at the track this weekend.but my circle of race friends have stepped it up. we have a buddy with a built busa with us now, i had to use this as an excuse to step up my game,lol. i bought a set of cases from 1bad. when they get here im shipping them out for a 2 mill, ordered the pistons today. try to decide what rods i want. for now going to use the head off the monster bike . im hoping to have it done by early december. then maybe next fall get a stage 2 cam and head from jim. just cant afford to do it all at one time,lol
